This is one of the most obvious points of failure for Outlaws to me. If anything, Kay not having force powers meant the devs should have put extra focus into her gun customization and gameplay loop to make them feel satisfying. When the primary aspect of your gameplay loop and the interactivity of said loop is accomplished better by a different game that wasn't even focusing on that aspect of its gameplay... you really ought to take a step back and reevaluate your approach.

Survivor's open planets like Koboh and Jedha kind of ruin the experience for me honestly. The only thing I liked in survivor on the side quest side of things in the High republic chambers. Well there are 2 main differences in my opinion: 1. Survivor does a better job at the main game mechanic. It's combat feels well implemented, entertaining and it keeps getting more interesting as the game progresses while the stealth in outlaws is a bit broken and gets to be ridiculous at times. 2. The story in survivor is way more interesting in my opinion, it doesn't rely on cameos to keep you hooked and the side characters are interesting.

Agreed. I played Outlaws first, then finally played both Jedi games back to back recently. Outlaws either needed to do something much deeper with the stealth sandbox, or find a way to not lean into it so much. The fact that I could just go fight enemies and enjoy it in the Jedi games meant I was usually a lot more eager to explore. Despite having bigger and sometimes more detailed spaces in SWO, exploration too often meant playing the sneak-and-wait game for too long, only to get caught and deal with the subpar shooting mechanics.

The biggest sin Outlaws had was make a game about a woman and market it to incels. The game is fun, it's not revolutionary, but people have been over critical from the announcement because they were mad about a woman being the main character. Before we knew literally anything else about the game, they were boycotting it. They over exaggerate it's flaws and undersell it's successes because they WANT the game to fail
@SoloyriАй бұрын
@@zachclawges6932 The problem outlaws has is how terrible the gameplay is. The "stealth" they have is pretty bad for a game that came out in 2024, you can beat any stealth mission by just spamming whistle after all it only attracts one enemy at a time to you and you can then down them and repeat since they won't react even if they see a dead body. There is also the loadout, you would think a game about being a scoundrel and using stealth mechanics would offer you multiple gadgets and weapons to use yet there is barely anything you can modify. Lastly nobody is angry about making a game about a woman as the main character, the problem people have is how boring of a story they gave her almost any other npc somehow seem more interesting than her due to how badly her story was written. If you want to defend a game you are welcome to do so but atleast try to understand the reasons as to why people dislike it instead of inventing an argument. Edit: Yes there are some people that disliked the game because Kay is the main character but portraying anyone who dislike this game as being those type of people is really telling about you.
@Highlander7726 күн бұрын
@@SoloyriI don't know if they've maybe improved some things since whenever you played Outlaws, but what you're saying here really isn't true. I just finished the game, and while there are certainly elements of the stealth that are unrealistic (as is the case for basically all stealth in games), you can't just whistle over enemies and take them down with impunity. If you're within the field of vision of other enemies when you pop up from the grass to do a stealth takedown, they WILL see you. And they definitely do react to finding a body, they go into high alert and start looking around. And the person you're responding to is correct. The hate bandwagon for Outlaws started the moment they first showed the game, before hardly any details were known. You're never going to convince me that it would have had the same reaction if it was the exact same game but you had a male main character.

I honestly liked Kays skill system better due to the thematics: you find mentors to unlock new skill paths, and then perform mini tasks to help learn said skill. Thematically it's more interesting then dumping skill points into random trees and just learning skills like Kal. Also, in terms of supporting characters, survivor is a sequel...so pretty much all of those characters other then Bode had the benefit of a whole nother game to be built up. It would have to be a purely stealth infiltration level, maybe the Star Wars version of Operation Valkyrie with a failed assassination attempt? Otherwise, unless they pulled something as badly written as Vader Immortal, we'd either have to be playing as an Imperial with access (Thrawn game anyone?) or it would have to end without us getting out alive. That said, I love Star Wars Infinities and would be down for a "What if?" scenario.

Jedi Survivor only hit PS4 this last month. It was never intended for the PS4. Also this game was developed by Respawn not Dice. Dice developed the Battlefront games and the reason why they said it wasn't possible is because both Battlefront 1 and Battlefront 2 aim for 60fps on the PS4 and Xbox One
@flo98944 ай бұрын
@@crestofhonor2349 yeah… I was talking about Jedi Survivor, they are not DICE but if they want to make Coruscant as accurate as the movie, they would have the same issues. Outlaws is just a peace of sh*. For Battlefront 2 the devs scan the entire cities and environnement models from the movies
@crestofhonor23494 ай бұрын
@@flo9894 Survivor fully has the capacity to depict Coruscant as it was in the movies. Hardware isn't an issue with depicting as it just would take too much time. Video games just stream in the data so it wouldn't be a problem. Battlefront 1 and 2 only scan objects as they used photogrammetry. It's just a method of making sure you can get all the proper material properties of an object in the game. You'd be surprised how many games used photogrammetry today, they just don't talk about it. Battlefront 1 only made a big deal about it because it was new back in 2015 as things like PBR(Physically Based Rendering) was a new thing in that era. Scanning real world objects was done to make the world feel more realistic and to sell the look of star wars to the player

Ubisoft would have done better to make a storyline with bounty hunters if they were going to do a shooter star wars game. Id much rather play as a character from the mandalorian guild or as jango or boba fett than some random girl who happens to get roped into a crime syndicate. Then they could do some upgrade system where you unlock your booster pack, different weapons, a wrist flamethrower, a wrist grappling hook (which wouldnt be hard for the company known for assassins creed and hidden blades). You could even have an armor upgrade system where you get beskar steel for completing certain side missions to upgrade your suit with more damage resistance or customize it with embeleshments based on the type of boss enemies you defeat. (Like the mudhorn emblem in the mandelorian). In my opinion, even a bad jedi game will always win over a good Star Wars shooter game with just blasters. Only thing is Outlaws isn't a good shooter game. It's just pretty. The universe is enticing, and nix is great for a cashgrab, but it isnt enough to warrant a 100+ hours youd need to see everything. Jedi Survivor wins in a landslide just based on the fact that you can play with a dual bladed lightsaber like darth maul.

As is being established by a lot of the comments here, Jedi: Survivor is the superior game between the two, and I do agree with that. My thoughts on Outlaws: The game is definitely ubisoft in it's purest form which may turn off many. But some like myself don't mind it. I had more issue with the ST references here and there. But given it takes place after episode 5 and before episode 6 for a change is nice. I did not like the disney trilogy. But I guess I don't mind having only the planets from the ST but set before that era is alright. It's a decent compromise. That aside, the game is really fun. The wanted system and open nature of the game makes it very replayable for me. But what really won me over was Nix. That little guy is probably the best thing for me about this whole game.🤩😍 His little animations like hopping on your speeder when u get close and looking at you hoping to go for a ride is fricken adorable. Along with the way he plays dead when u ask him to distract a guard or point your gun at him and the little interactions u can have with him when eating meals. God hes so cute. Lol The story was alright. I didn't love it or dislike it. It was serviceable. But evreything around the story was so fun that I didn't mind. (Minus the instant fail stealth missions ovcourse..) The backlash the game is getting should be directed to ubisoft higher ups. Not the devs themselves. Clearly alot of love went into this game from what I can see. The game didn't deserve to be completely review bombed. If I'm going to be as honest as possible, I would give it a good 7/10. Anything below a 6 or 5 is not right. The game does far more correctly than it does wrong. And I feel an 7/10 reflects that very well. I only hope we get atleast one more planet in the dlc expansions coming up. And maybe a few QOL improvements and fixes to make it better as it Definitely needs that. Anyway, that's about it. Just felt that I needed to say something and be as fair and realistic as possible while not being blinded by hate. 🙂👍

Well I think outlaws is special because it has a real feel of how a person in this galaxy would be, the world building and open world is something that we can't get from jedi games, but jedi games have better stories, but I don't regret that we have outlaws, because it's something we (starwars fans) never had , in jedi games you just see empire and cal , rarely a citizen or a NPC, but in outlaws, you get to be one of many people in this galaxy, but outlaws could be better, in many parts, I think both games are special in their own, and we must not forget that jedi games are 2 games so the story is much better.

I liked outlaws and survivor. Cal has a bit more exciting story but I really liked the open world parts of outlaws. I don’t care so much that the outlaws mechanics were a bit simplistic, if I have to get a phd in your game’s mechanics that would thrill 14 year old me, but not 27 year old me. I wish the writing was better in outlaws, it had good threads but needed more ND-5 interaction, crew interaction, rebel interaction etc.
