Its stupid to hold ted williams postseason career against him when Ted played in a time where only the top team in the league made the postseason. The red sox had many years during Ted's tenure that they were a top team in the league. There just happened to be a better team in their league. Had it been with today's postseason rules the red sox would've been in the postseason almost every season of Williams career. look at the red sox record the year before Ted williams went to the army (1942) and compare with the 3 years (1943-45) we was in the army and the year he came back (1946). Red sox struggled those 3 years without TW.

People don’t understand how impossible it is for one single player to carry a terrible baseball team. In the nba a prime lebron could join any team and make even a bottom barrel franchise a playoff contender at least. In football, the quality of a quarterback can make or break a teams success, as we are seeing with the patriots post-Brady. There are so many moving parts to baseball though, and the best player on a team can only have so much impact on the game. Even a pitcher, who has the most control over the game considering they hold the ball for most of it, only pitches once every 5 games. Trout has been a more consistent and better player all around for his entire career without a doubt, but Bryce has been on better teams

Trout is so much better than Harper its not even funny. You give him Dombro as a GM and an owner committed to winning not making money, Trout does damage in October. I love Harper, but Trout is outhitting him even during this injury stretch, and has about the same WAR in 135 less games. They are not comparable.

Trout is too frail. Too many hamburgers. He doesn't keep himself healthy the way Harper does. Yeah, harper blew out his arm, ok fine. But Trout's back is made with paper mache and he's always breaking something. Trout would be smart to get in as DH to a team that is already world series bound. Right now, IMHO, Harper has had the better career. Those regular season numbers do NOT mean as much as those post-season numbers.
