Important to note that Hunter Strickland punched a door in a fit after a game while he was still a Giant. As a Nats fan, I'm getting tired of our "beef" with Bryce Harper. I don't really care that he left, it happens to most baseball players. If he wanted to get the most money possible by going to a division rival then fine. I think it's fun to have a rivalry sort of beef, but I've seen people that genuinely hate him and want to wish bad on him, and I wish that would stop. In a vacuum where I look at Bryce in a baseball sense, he was such a hype player that brought so much fun to Nats games. I still have respect for him.

My opinion of Harper has changed drastically over the past few years. Sure, I'm a diehard Phillies fan but even the season before we signed him, Harper started to grow on me. I used to despise him because he was easy to hate playing for a division rival and being as hyped up as he was entering the league... BUT especially since he's been in Philly, the dude is genuinely a good dude who plays every game as if it's his last. He cares about nothing but winning and has been saying all the right things to win over the fanbase here. If you're not from Philly you really can't understand how misunderstood our fanbase is. We care about our teams and want the players on our teams to care about winning as much as we do and Harper absolutely does and unlike a lot of today's athletes, he's not a phoney.

I was standing on top of the right field arcade at AT &T Park when Harper hit that second home run. The ball flew right over my head so high I was flabbergasted that someone could hit a ball so hard and high. In all my outfield experience in Little League and Pony League, I had never come close to seeing anything like that moon shot. I was on top of the arcade and it still went so far over my head I got dizzy trying to track it. I was so lost in tracking the ball into McCovey Cove that I never saw the whole Harper-Strickland interaction.

Some fun facts from Jomboy: 1. Strickland had apparently been telling teammates before the game that he would plunk Harper. Buster told him if he did, he would want no part in it. 2. If you watch the footage of Harper "watching the home run" it's a long shot that could honestly be a foul, the catcher and ump are both also standing and watching, so it's not like it was particularly egregious. It's Strickland who was yelling at Harper, when Harper rounds first, he's responding to him

This was some dry age ass beef. How are you still mad as a pitcher when you won a WS and you are still mad at a batter “pimping” a hit.

Baseball fans love to see confrontations like this they can't deny it it does make the sport more exciting but you don't want to see one of your teams super stars get hurt. ..

Not really. “Confrontations like this” are lame and immature. Everyone running out on the field acting like they’re tough guys all because some guy got his feelings hurt cuz another guy is better than him or got the best of him.

It's almost precious how innocent Strickland probably thinks he sounds when he's answering questions "Oh I wanted to go inside, that's all" "Oh yeah I *guess* I could see how people think I might have done that for revenge" His quivering voice just makes me feel certain he rehearsed it all before.
