Being a former PC gamer of advancing years, a friend upgraded his PS4 to PS5 and donated the former to me. These two games were my ‘baptism’ into console gaming. Totally absorbing, epic games. Playable multiple times.

@@NEMES1-S That’s a true friend right there, I’m glad you got to experience these two games as your introduction to console gaming. Bet you have been hooked since! I played TLOU 4 times in one month, timeless in every way.

I was shocked when I saw you only had 2 subs (3 now). This video was really well put together-short but descriptive. You should make a longer video about The Last of Us 1 & 2.

@@i_m_thedude Thank you for the sub! Also, much gratitude for the kind words about the video. I think short but descriptive suits my style, however I am open and willing to put the time into making longer format videos. Thanks again for the sub, comment, and the helpful suggestion!

very good video :D, i like how you highlight the strengths of each game and that youre not biased (ton of people are making this videos just to sh*t on the second game) i was also suprised to see you having just a couple of subscribers haha Keep up the good work man !

@@peta9381 Much appreciated, I’m glad that you enjoyed the video! I’m having a ton of fun with both games still. They each have their own unique strengths. I was bummed to hear the news PlayStation decided not to do a Days Gone 2. Could have had a lot of potential imo. Yes, I’m brand new to KZbin haha thank you for interacting with the channel, it really means a lot! Let me know what games you’d like to see me cover next!

Days Gone is the better game for me. The two parts of The Last of Us that were released are milestones in video game history. They impress with their realistically designed game world and oppressive narrative style. However, both games are too linear, and you can only follow the given path. Everything else is just a nicely designed background. In Days Gone, you can explore the beautiful apocalyptic landscapes of Oregon, and the hordes are an extraordinary challenge. My point is that we should enjoy both games.

@@pseudonym4034 Great points, could not agree more. Both games genuinely have their own unique strengths. The controlled linear story of TLOU games are backed by their emotionally driver story and Days Gone gives the player ultimate control of how they embark on the adventure of Deacon St. John. I’m really enjoying the open world of Days Gone and the Horde element too. Imagine combining both games, an open world yet still a cinematic narrative experience is what Naughty Dog is aiming for next from what I’ve gathered. That would be pretty awesome imo. Thanks for your comment and insight!

Both are great games. But story in Days Gone is shitty. Nonetheless the voice acting in days gone is great ❤

@@totemwolf Days Gone’s story is certainly a slow burn. It does pick up around the mid point of the game, but with TLOU we are all hooked from the very first scene. I do agree that the voice acting and motion capture from the actors in Days Gone are really good. But, I see why PlayStation didn’t choose to do a Days Gone 2.

One is a masterpiece and the other is a shit show.

@@tharun107 TLOU story is just phenomenal. It has a replay ability factor that Days Gone is simply lacking. There’s a reason why I replayed TLOU 4 times in one month. With that being said, Sam Witwer’s (Deacon St. John) performance in Days Gone was extremely captivating. He definitely carried the story.

@@JacobPlaysVideoGames dude, I loved the game too but 4 times a month is wild. And also i never played days gone btw and i don't think I'll ever convince myself to play it too

@@tharun107 I ended up getting pretty good at speed running TLOU due to playing it so much. If you ever see Days Gone on sale I would recommend snagging it. It’s a long game (15 hours not including exploring) and it has plenty of moments that give you that rush of adrenaline similar to what the TLOU provides players. Stealth is an option in Days Gone, but I enjoyed the more action oriented gameplay mechanics. It takes strategy and firepower to take down the bigger hordes which is my favorite thing to do in the game.
