Hey Racer X. I saw your video here and I went and bought a 2024 Hellcat Durango. Its super fun and the motor is awesome. I have a scat pack challenger, but this Hellcat Durango is unreal ! Glad we saw your video, it had 7 miles when we bought it. Thank you for recommending it. It has a real shifter in it, for the win. No one likes that dial gear thing in the cadillac . Best regards chuck

Paul even said that SRT admitted to having at least one Durango Hellcat Redeye test mule that kept breaking parts. The Hellcat Redeye Durango was probably in the product development and testing stages when the Peugeot/Stellantis merger happened and then just before its debut, Stellantis probably cut it. I remember SRT having a Durango Hellcat out at some media events that was called the Durango Pursuit or something like that and I think it even had police sirens on it. It was white a Durango Hellcat that had a Redeye engine in it, custom SRT decals, and Mopar one-inch drop springs. I remember reading somewhere that they were auto-crossing it and it actually did very well

I recently went from a Durango Hellcat to a CT5V Blackwing. The Durango was a great all around vehicle, had the fun factor and plenty if room for the family. Having been in the V Blackwing now for a few months I gotta say Cadillac knocked it out of the park on their V series vehicles. The Blackwing is tons of fun, 6 spd manual and comfy for the family. As Racer X noted the interiors on the Caddy is way better.

Déjà vu! This is a high resolution repost. In the last post, I picked the Durango. I still pick the Durango. Too many fancies in a vehicle turn into headaches later down the road. Just put all that fancy budget into the powertrain, and build quality.
@trbstangАй бұрын
Yes it probably costs less than $50 for the product, and $100 or so to apply. I'd consider it for about $300 or so, but not more unless they are doing a full paint correction first.
@BarkleefanАй бұрын
I already made that choice. The CTS V was a bit clapped out and ridiculously over priced. I went with the obvious choice of 21 HC Durango. 12k on it and it was flawless at 70k. Caddy sounds spectacular and it moves, but on a road like Trail of the Dragon or Pikes Peak, Caddy doesn't compare to HC. Durango carved corners far better than 3 tons has a right to.

SRT could have beefed up the driveline - diffs, axle shafts, and T-case in the Durango Hellcat to handle the extra hundred or so HP power from the Redeye/18 Demon engine. The real problem was that the Stellantis bean counters would most likely not allow the SRT team any more development dollars for a new Durango trim since the Durango is an aging platform already on borrowed time.
@BarkleefanАй бұрын
They fired the SRT engineers. It was one of the first moves they made after the acquisition.

In short buy a German SUV!
@jamesaandfАй бұрын
The platform under the Durango was developed under DaimlerChrysler and was used by the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Durango, and the MB M class W166.
@drstevej2527Ай бұрын
@@jamesaandf What is your point? It’s not German nor do they drive like a German SUV and they certainly don’t perform like one.
@jamesaandfАй бұрын
@@drstevej2527 so you’re saying the M class W166 wasn’t a German vehicle? It actually really wasn’t because MB let Jeep take the lead on the design of the shared platform. There were obvious differences, but the underpinnings were “family”.
@drstevej2527Ай бұрын
@@jamesaandf Do you understand that this is 2024 not 2004. What Chrysler is making today is not a product of German engineering. The M has been the GLE for a decade.

@@drstevej2527 the platform under the current Durango is the platform developed when it was DaimlerChrysler, so yes, it has German lineage.

Sooooo comparing 2 American made 3 row SUV's with 6.2 Liter Supercharged, pushrod V8's making 700HP(give or take) and both costing north of $100,000 is apples and oranges. Right. No similarities there whatsoever.
