I know a couple of years ago, The Reloader's Network had the red ones. Not completely sure of their origin though, other than that.

I must have missed them completely

I think those slugs are a little heavier than the ones I just tested. Mine weigh 1.19 with the wad attached.
@theshotgunscientists2 ай бұрын
If I remember right these are 1.3 ounces with the wad. 525 grains without the wad. It’s the hybrid slug. We were gonna film today and try to get it up tonight but good old Kentucky weather decided today was a good day for a torrential downpour with lightning.

We ended up getting the range video filmed today too luckily. Appears at least some of the wads fell off, one of them before even reaching the patterning board.

@@theshotgunscientists That's odd!! I have a theory why that happens. If the powder load is on the light side, the pressure peaks out before the slug leaves the barrel. The heavy slug doesn't slow down but the drag on the light wad causes it to detach.

Makes sense.

I like the name they chose that’s for sure can’t wait to see what his molds gonna be like. I missed the boat on the Russian molds.

It is a pretty good name I’ll agree there lol

Hard to find those wads here in Australia, I had to order some from Ryan Goodell.

Wonder if you could trim that one without losing any kind of gas seal

Nope, the gas seal section tapers outward as it nears the bottom.

Wonder how they would do in a muzzle loader? Loaded up almost a 100 2.5 oz yesterday with my classic lee loader. What a project doing it all by hand with that many hulls! I take my old comment back with the black federal hulls. They are weak. Guessing they’re rebranded Cheddite. They all mushroomed out when knocked out the primers. I then tap them back flat .
@theshotgunscientists2 ай бұрын
Probably just fine with a nitro card over the powder. As far as I know federal has never used Cheddite hulls.
