I have the Jabra Engage and it definitely has noise cancelation. It is so good that you can actually scream around me while I use them and the person at the other end will not hear a thing, unless I actually speak.

A few things to add 1. You can connect 2 x USB devices on PLXW8200 base using the APC-82 cable 2. If you have a digital business telephone Plantronics have miles more EHS cables than Jabra to integrate the headset with your telephone. 3. There is an incoming call notification speaker on the charging dock on the Savi W8200 4. Noise cancelling on the microphone is adjustable using the free Plantronics HUB application 5. The Savi range allows customers to not only hot desk headsets but you can actually have completely different headsets from the Savi range charge on the same base. With Jabra you can only charge 1 headset style as the mounting dock is static. Plantronics allows you to swap the dock on the base so as to fit different headset shapes/models without buying another system.

Hello, Richard. How do you switch between the two usb devices? The user manual (for the 8220) does not mention this.
@pacmanwa5 жыл бұрын
You have a microphone test but immediately play music while talking. Unclear why, as ANC will not filter out music in the background. ANC is mean for specific frequencies like air conditioning noise, or airplane engines. It would have been great to hear the microphones compared side by side without that distraction, or simply do the review recording with the headset mics (alternating). They actually both sounded really bad in this video but I doubt either are that bad.

Crikey... > $400!?! I'm sure glad the price has come down. I just bought the Plantronics on Amazon for $229. I do hope that I sound better through that microphone though on Skype / Teams calls than you did in your recording. I thought the mic sounded HORRIBLE on both of them, but I'm chalking that up to recording quality or whatever implementation you used to capture the audio.

I have the Savi 8220 and found the range to be extremely exaggerated for an office environment. I get less than 100' before the call deteriorates. In some cases, I've also had it repeatedly drop and reconnect while sitting 4' from it. On Mac, Plantronics hub is also somewhat broken and you can't connect to Plantronics to update firmware. I worked with Support and had to install an older version of Hub to update firmware. Latest Hub still does not work. Lack of sidetone on Mac is also annoying. I don't know if that's a Mac issue or Plantronics issue, but I do wish I could hear my own voice in the headset. I also didn't realize that the Bluetooth was in the base, so if I'm using it with my phone and need to walk away from the base, I need to make sure to leave my phone at the base, which now means I can't use any of the controls on my phone. I guess this setup is pretty standards for these DECT & Bluetooth combo phones, but I'm not a fan. I tried it for a month and pretty disappointed. Will be going back to the store today and will see if the Jabra Engage performs any better.

Since these are stereo headsets, I'm curious how they compare when listening to music. Do you find that one sounds "better"?
@pacmanwa5 жыл бұрын
@@CallOneInc This reply doesn't make sense because you are pointing out ANC makes the sound better, however only the Plantronics has ANC. So it's not really not personal preference. I have found ANC in office environments really improves both music and voice. Plantronics should get the nod here.

Btw, congrats for the video. But I need to say that for me, the quality of the mic of this headsets seems terrible awful when comparing with your camera mic.
@nickr7533 жыл бұрын
I think in the demo you don't get a good comparison of mic quality because they're making a Bluetooth connection to the cell phone. They would need to connect the base station via USB to a laptop to get full quality.

I know this is an old video , perhaps you could do a review of the plantronics 104 ( a trucker friendly headset ) and see how it performs in an office environment. The boom mic on the plantronics 104 seems to be higher quality then pretty much anything Ive come across. And id like to see whether having just one ear cupped ( on the plant. 104 ) makes a difference in your ability to focus on the call. great reviews though keep it up.

Does plantronics have something equivalent from jabra link 370 (the usb adapter which extend bluetooh capabilities)? I think that this is important once bluetooth don't have enougth bandwidth for audio and mic and usually drops sound quality.

Thanks for such a speedy reply! I'm connecting to a laptop primarily at home then the office in future. The ability to take it on the occasional trip would be good but I have an old voyager legend which is ok but not as good call quality. I tried the evole2 65 and it was excellent (and ticked all the boxes!) but I prefer the call quality of the 75 which is hard to get over! Any thoughts welcome but I suspect I will have to make a slight compromise. The Savi 8220 almost does it but it is also almost too good at isolating the outside world wheres the 75 feels much like you're talking naturally. Sorry for the ramble!

Plantronics sucks really with Dragon. There is a wake up-delay as if the Headset is in sleep mode which results in missing the first spoken words all the time - so it is not possible to use it.
