I found myself recently obsessing over the lives of people I sort of knew in university and then abusing myself for not being successful enough. I am doing my dream job, my family loves me, I am financially secure for the first time in my life and yet I am jealous of others. It felt so toxic...so toxic that I really wanted to throw up. This video was really important for me. Because I have realised as long as I don’t work on healing my soul no material comforts is going to be enough to make me happy.
@JenniferMyers4 жыл бұрын
Wow. I have done similar. Wondering about people I'd gone to school with and comparing myself to them...and picking out the differences between our lives and almost feeling this need to punish myself for not somehow "measuring up." It's so interesting to think that some of my former classmates surely were doing the very same, but with me. That is how humans are. We do this. And it is toxic; you're absolutely right. Healing inside, going within and getting to intimately know who YOU ARE and what your purpose is, THAT is the key to being grounded, sane, and -- a bonus -- happy.

You're such a role model not just for women to us men as well. God bless you. Your message was so heart touching. I wish everyone stays happen within.

Thank you, xxx xxx. I really appreciate that; nice to get a male's perspective as I'm certain the majority of my viewership is comprised of females (which is not to say that anything is wrong about that, obviously, but it's refreshing is all I meant).

There’s a lot of scars that comes from going through an immense amount of trauma, which leads to an unconventional life, and that leads to feeling even more alienated on top of the trauma you’ve already faced :/ I always find myself comparing to those who live a more conventional life/with more conventional situations and it really does tear me apart. I want to feel more confident and secure in myself but when I find that I can’t relate to others it makes me feel even more isolated. I also realize that I shouldn’t seek external validation from anything or anyone else. Naturally we all do that to a certain extent.
@JenniferMyers4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. We all do it as it's human nature to compare and also look to others for validation. If it weren't the case, none of us would bother combing our hair or getting dressed in non-pajama clothes to leave the house, for example. So these things do matter. But in the grand scheme of things, it's obviously a deeper issue than whatever we see on the surface. That feeling of not following the herd and wondering "what's wrong with me?" is so common. I think we all feel these things.

This was beautifully said. I love how you put the focus back on one's self vs what comparison does which is focus on others. Nice thought provoking video.... Jennifer i have a quiry... Are sardines in olive oil healthy... I heard in someone else s video that always go for fish in water or brine... What are your thoughts......
@JenniferMyers4 жыл бұрын
I personally only buy and consume those packed in spring water, and nothing else. This is simply because I don't know the quality of the oil being used, and often when packaging tinned fish in this way, the olive oil can also be subject to oxidation. I prefer adding my own extra virgin olive oil to my foods. I don't think anything is bad or wrong particularly with olive oil packaged sardines. But I myself purchase the spring water variety!

@reena777744 жыл бұрын
She doesn't curl her eyelashes , that's is the reason it might look shorter .
@JenniferMyers4 жыл бұрын
Not rude at all! I have shorter lashes at the moment simply due to the natural growth cycle of eyelashes (as any other hair on the body). Lashes are constantly shedding and regrowing, and they each (individually) grow and shed at varying rates, so there are definitely times when my lashes are crazy long and dense, and there are other times when they lack length and thickness. I'm consistent with my castor oil usage, regardless. I enjoy the benefits for not only my lashes but also my undereye skin, too. I hope that helps to answer your question!
