I like how the Piston Cup racers in the 1st movie consist of a Plymouth Superbird, a Buick Grand National, several Chevrolet Monte Carlos, Dodge Intrepids, Pontiac Grand Prixs, Toyota Camrys, and Ford Taurus, and a Chevy Corvette (I actually think Lightning is a mix between a Corvette and a Dodge Viper). Tesla isn’t 1991, and I’m fairly certain Mack is ‘85, not ‘03. Also, you didn’t include Stanley, who was built in 1909 (making him the oldest car in the series). edit: kori turnowitz is also wrong as the original Puma’s model years were 1997-2002

My jaw dropped at that part! I legitimately had no idea the Cars franchise actually features a Tesla as one of its characters! However, the Tesla Model S came out in 2012, and the first modern electric car, the General Motors EV-1, didn't come out until 1996.

It seemed obvious to me when I watched it. Age plays an important role in this series, even looking at the 3rd part, but it should be noted that in this universe there are no children, only cars function like adults right after production (Although the Cruz story challenges this theory). The problem is that it is not explained whether they are made in the factory or are born (it would be pointless, but Italian cars had parents in the 2nd part). It is also interesting that some live for 100 years, some die, and some at 30 are scrap.

Lightning McQueen is expected to be a Dodge Viper The reason is that Doc Hudson's number is 51, and McQueen's birth year would be 1995 In the case of Corvette, it is known that the c5 release is 1997, and the c4 was released and discontinued by 1996, but the shape of the c4 is angled compared to the silhouette of McQueen

The company im most upset about is Saab. I'm a Swede and a Saab enthusiast. Saab wouldnt have survived all that long but with GM, they got the shorter end of the stick, at least imo. Most companies bought by GM fall like a sack of potatoes. Others don't, but a lot of them have done so. If you don't agree or see it that way, all good, but it does seem quite odd how many makes have gone under while they were run by GM in specific. Makes me wonder.

Both are very similar but the Superbird’s wing is moved slightly forward and the Charger Daytona has the word Daytona on the rear left and right. Also the Daytona is still being produced by Dodge while Plymouth was discontinued in 2002

This list doesn't makes sense. Some of the cars are only an stylish inspiration of car types from different genres. For examples the White pickup whas just an 90's pick up that could be an GMC, Ford or Chevy. Pickups from those times were almost the same with Small differences in headlights. Also McQueen isn't based on any car. It's just a mix of a muscle car, 90s viper and a nascar car

It seems to me that Lightning is a mixture of Dodge Viper and Chevrolet Corvette, because there is a Chevrolet Corvette C6.R (Jeff Gorvette), which is not at all like Lightning
