You all need to be watching this video on an HDR capable 4K screen in order to properly tell the differences here. The 4K is better. It's not even close. The shot of Cuervo Jones at 4:57 on the 4K really sells it. The color timing on that background is better all around. It looks like the sun in the background is shining with that blue tint gone. At 5:18 you can see the light bulbs in the hanging lamps on the 4K while they were washed-out on the Blu-ray.

Would be nice if you showed each clip quicker and maybe pan fade back and forth between the two clips.

Switching back and forth between the same screen could be helpful. But flipping faster between each new slide might let the full diffrance sink end. But personally I enjoy the format/speed Mooniz currently use.

The slide, during the crowd scene @ 2:58. The color is literally sucked out of the characters clothing. Is this really “improvement?”

Clearly it's a HDR thing not very evident in standard monitors / phones

I think their goal was to produce a more authentic look, not necessarily a "pretty" one. A crowd of people with a searchlight being shined right on them will look more like the 4K. Look at the headlights of the vehicle In the very next slide. They're orange on the Blu-ray and properly white on the 4K. On the slide after that, you may notice a blue tint on the skin of Snake and the guy next to him in the Blu-ray. The color timing is more realistic on the 4K.

@@BigJwlz You might just be right about that. Perhaps they amp the original colors up, to get the “WOW!” Factor going in their favor, whether they are true to the cinematographers,and directors, original vision, or not.

Yeah in that scene the HDR/Touch up aimed to make the Color more "Realistic" on account a super bright spotlight will wash out any color/detail - since it's all being replaced by Pure White and reflecting lighting. You can do the same trick/test by shining a bright flashlight on a shirt and will see large amount of it will be washed out and blocked out by the beam point.
