I might have more Bari gigs in my future and for my tastes, the Durga 1 was the most balanced.
@RyanSaranich5 жыл бұрын
It's very balanced. Referencing the comment above, I went to the 3 primarily because of the shorter shank and the sharper tone. Does well on my low Bb:)

@@RyanSaranich Is there anywhere I could get a new or used Durga 1? Thanks.
@RyanSaranich5 жыл бұрын
@@jacobtracy Please send me a message on here, or on one of my social channels (just search my name!). I contacted my friends at Theo Wanne to see if they may be able to help you in your search.

I actually like the sound of the Durga 1 more than the Durga 3
@RyanSaranich5 жыл бұрын
For some things, I agree. For most of the stuff I play, I need the baritone to cut a little more, so the 3 does an excellent job. Also, the shank is shorter, so it's easier to play in tune on my low Bb baritone.

I like the way you noodle- there’s musical taste and invention. So many demo guys just spit out memorized bebop finger exercises. No matter what you’re playing, patterns, long tones or what have you, it should be music, and you do that.

I appreciate the compliment! Thanks.

Thanks for the comparison. I just purchased several Theo Wanne pieces (Gaia 2- Sop, NY Bros-Alto, Slant Sig 2-Tenor) and am waiting for their arrival. I was looking for versatile pieces that I can use in many playing situations. I hadn’t decided on what Bari mouthpiece to get yet, but was leaning toward the Durga 3. I think I will have to pick one up now.

How did the pieces you bought work out for you?

Ryan Saranich really well. I love them. They are definitely the best mouthpieces I have ever owned.

James Durham glad to hear. I usually keep a lot of pieces on me (like 10-12) if you want to test any out when I see you next.

Hello, Would you recommend your harness for the baritone saxophone? what is this model please? Because I'm a fan of the SaxHolder for two years! (excellent for alto, soprano and tenor) but it has only one flaw that of decentering (the axis on the belly is shifted, it draws strongly on the left shoulder) especially with the baritone saxophone that we tend to wear a little on the side. Which is problematic for comfort. Thank you for your very interesting videos. Hello from France I play Durga Theo Wanne on Tenor and baritone saxophone

What is the size like between the Durga 1 and 3? The Durga 1 seems bigger in terms of actual size than the 3
@RyanSaranich4 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, the 3 has a longer shank which helps a lot with tuning in both Bb and A models. Other than that, the two mouthpieces are similar in size.
@mccplayzmc71134 жыл бұрын
Ryan Saranich thank you for your response. Besides the length (if that is what you mean) are there any differences? I play a vandoren v16 b5 and I have a strange problem of which my mouthpiece is physically too big and this Durga 1 was something I was considering because I found an enormous sale for one. However it looks similar in terms of size to my v16
@RyanSaranich4 жыл бұрын
@@mccplayzmc7113 No other differences. This mouthpiece is basically the same size as any other baritone mouthpiece on the market.

So I have been looking everywhere for a metal bari sax mouthpiece for concert band, and I cannot find any. Do you know any brands that make a metal mouthpiece with a darker instead of a brighter sound for concert band?
@matthewstevenson74524 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately they don’t really not for bari but the metal ottolink shave a big large chamber so you can get a “classical” sound on them
