Nice review. I do like the main battery layout on the Oklahoma. 5 and 5. I now have both ships. I think it may take a lot of playing these two to figure out a preference. These are definitely "don't get in a hurry" ships. Just enjoy the battle.

Oklahoma's problem is that the Nevada-class is more of a tier 5.5 ship. She SHOULD be firing exactly the same shells as Arizona, with exactly the same reload. But that would make her blatantly better than the New York and Texas (as she actually was..) in every way and that doesn't work well.

Excellent review i subscribed to your channel. I look forward to the Oklahoma's secondaries to help fend off the pesky DDs. 8km plus range will be helpful.

Hi Scott, let us know your experience. I've seen opinions of others, including from one of my fellow CCs, that secondary builds for the Oklahoma are quite ineffective. It's possible I'm only seeing negative feedback and, in fact, such builds do work for others.

I expect to get the ship this week. I will let you know after some games. Game name for me is Cmdr_WSRamsey

In real life, the Oklahoma, and Nevada were newer, and had more consolidated systems, and comparable guns in less turrets. These were the last 2 American Battleships built with 2 screws. I understand why they have the stats in the game, but I crack up at how real world physics are ignored in this game, but Oh well.

Based on KZbin videos, I thought that the Oklahoma is significantly more accurate. If it is not, then, there is little compensation for the slow reload and poor pen.

Yeah, after looking at the data (range, dispersion, sigma), they're very similar, at least on paper.

I think unfortunately the Oklahoma is just a not a good ship. It just isn’t fun to play. The Krupp nerf to its AP, has really made them only good at shooting cruisers. Even at ranges under 10km I have seen numerous shatters (like all of them) against other BBs that are giving full broadsides. Seems to be a trend that is evident in all the new US BBs, long reload, weak penetration and slow speed. If just one of these was improved slightly, it could enhance the playability.

She can be a 2nd build and a tier 5 is fun. 7.9kms 2nds at tier 5 sounds fun. The grind isn't that bad. Pretty happy I'll get her for free. 40 seconds is ruff. But like she's different with the secondary

Texas is essentially a free ships. There are so many ways, or at least have been, to get it free. I think I got mine from a Twitch mission.

yea its becuase the oklahoma uses the 1400 pound early found on the stock new york one of the worst shells in the game fully upgraded it uses the same shell for the whole line until colorado new mexico just pushes it fast 50 caliber so more pen

You end up earning way more silver and free XP by playing Tier VIII premiums and higher, so who out there would actually be asking these questions like which one of these tier V's is better as if people play at Tier V regularly enough to justify buying a premium in that tier? Maybe it's just me from my point of view as having 16 different Tier X's by this point now because I've been playing since day 1 of official release like 5+ years ago, but I have hella low tier premiums I've earned for free over time and I barely ever find myself playing anything lower than like Tier VII unless there's some random Ranked Sprint season or something requiring a Tier V or VI. But really though, are there players out there who might own and have access to multiple higher tier options, yet still play down at the lower tiers like that by choice to the point where they actually want to go buy themselves a Tier V premium?
@bigbloodaxe3 жыл бұрын
It's going to be an attractive option for newer players for sure, I don't think I'd consider it at this point either. Like you, I have been here forever so have multiple higher tier premium options at this point, however I still play my Gremyashchy :-)

@swifty It depends on why you came to Wows. For me it was history, to see the models of ships i read 100s of books decades ago. Achieving big numbers is something for the (real life) career, not for a game i play to relax. I have 38 Tx´s but T5 is my 2nd-most played. Almost all ships at that tier are real, they have a history. For example the T22 had a more busy history than all TX-BBs together (which is not difficult since apart from Yamato all of them are fake ^^) - and T22 is not even premium. Also, history-wise the T2 Emden and T3 Dresden can "smoke" pretty much all TX´s. So despite having Bourgogne, Thunderer, Somers, Salem etc i still look forward to get the Oklahoma :) And i will play her.

Hey, anyone can answer my question, but should I get the October revolution, or save up for the Ohio?
@aniolairghorm3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mega Train Lover: if I'm not mistaken, the October Revolution is purchased with coal or doubloons whereas the Ohio is purchased with research points. These are different currencies, so no need to be concerned about trading off getting one of these ships for the other.
