Frank Chadwick was a genius. I always admired how clean his designs were. You only needed a couple of games to master them. I played TWW and Assault to death back in the day. Having all the TWW “remastered” games in the same box was a great gift. One of the best initiatives by Compass Games.

Thank you very much for this video tutorial. I've got this game and have been dabbling with it solo, and while I think I had most of the rules more or less correct, it really helps to see it played by someone who actually knows to reinforce it. The only thing I've really been struggling with in this game is trying to find the correct pace for the Soviets, as in massing enough forces on the frontlines to actually do damage while still having forces available for the second impulse. Very excited for the Vassal module and I'm certainly looking forward to the next video!

Glad you are finding it helpful Josh, that's the point of the LTP series! Enjoy exploring the game and trying new things each time! :)

At around 22:20 (the interception of the Czech airborne assault) you resolve the SH result by returning the defending air unit to the 'Flown' box, but it needs to go to the 'Shot Down' box instead.

At around 42:20 you move a US armored cavalry regiment through the hex with the 2-strength strike/interdiction marker so it should have been attacked and any cohesion hits would also reduce movement points.

Thanks for the video. Only two nitpicks over nearly an hour of content is pretty impressive.

Thanks for much for posting this tutorial. I just joined a group last week who're playing the game and I was sent a copy of the rules and your video to help me learn it for this weekend, when I'll be filling in for another. So much of the game is classical design, which really helps a great deal. The other huge plus is, of course, your video. Just brought everything together and demonstrated clearly how simple the game really is: There may be 40+ pages of rules, but a lot of that won't come up in game play, or only rarely. Looking forward to part 2!

That's exactly why I started this series, to get the right people together to bring the best videos to help people learn and get to playing more quickly! Thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it! Don't worry, we'll be getting the Air War video done very soon for your viewing pleasure. :)

Great Video! So helpful as I try and learn this game. Ref 32:08. (Both WP and NATO Put in Close Air Support, but NATO drove off WP Escorts) If a NATO Fighter Aircraft is left after round 1 can it not go after the SU 25 in a Round 2? Thanks?

Really enjoying this play through. Learning a lot. Seems like a pretty lean rules set compared to other offerings in this genre.

It's not a deep rulebook, but the play is deep. What seems to throw people off are the air rules, which we will be revisiting. Glad you like the video! :)

I am really interested in game design and was wondering if you guys know how Frank Chadwick came up with his Proficiency numbers for his units?
@MoesWargames3 ай бұрын
I do not but you should check with the development team who worked on this version over on the Compass Games Enthusiasts page for your answer!

What program are you using? Is there a computer version of the game?
@MoesWargames2 жыл бұрын
This is using Vassal and the module that was created for TWW which will be available for download next month.

@@MoesWargames Thanks. Never heard of this. I will have to look into it. I have the game but I'd rather be able to play it on the pc to save table space etc

@@cbuk8691 it's a great tool that allows you to play a lot of wargames easily on your PC. Saves setup and takedown time, and you can play with friends live or through PBEM. :)
