My favorite motor. I’ve got a 0.030 Cleveland with the Parker funnel web intake, mechanical roller cam custom ground off of the BBC. TRW forged flat top pistons. 3/8” oil line from front of engine block to number 5 main oil galley. 4-V closed chamber heads with the tongues. Low 9’s on a 175 shot. I would’ve never thought my 86 mustang would’ve ever been this fast with such a simple setup. Great video. Thanks.

I have a 391 Cleveland. In a 65 Ford f100, 4 speed,5.18 rear end. Stock form with those gears is a torque monster. I can't imagine if it's stroker. The truck has only 25k. My grandpa ordered it to pull 5th wheel, goose neck camper trailer and was only used for that.

Romak balancer, but you said it was internally ballanced? Running a romak on my 77 AMC 401 that one is in my 49 Willys 4X wagon
@danielwilson66653 жыл бұрын
The Romac is primarily used for controlling engine harmonics as a vibration damper. For a internally balanced engine it would be a “0” imbalance or neutral balanced.

Ok, confused...why the 3-valve nomenclature? It is a 2-valve engine. Ford used the 2v 4v to denote the smaller valve port 2v vs the larger valve, port 4 v is this then a middle-of-the-road head or, something else?
@juliennacer88712 жыл бұрын
nothing to do with 3 valve. the '3v' refers to the type of cleveland cylinder head it is.
@Selkirk692 жыл бұрын
@@juliennacer8871 Ok, but what does 3v mean? Why give it a designation of 3v unless they are trying to suggest a hybrid or a compromise between the 2v and 4v. In the US, we are all very aware of the valve sizes, ports, flow numbers, and chamber sizes, between the 2v and 4 v so 3v means a lot to us...thanks
@Selkirk692 жыл бұрын
@Pat Luxor thanks, makes sense
@p99t0013 Жыл бұрын
In Ford nomenclature, "V" stands for Venturi, more commonly called a barrel. The 4V factory head came with a 4 barrel carb; the 2V with a 2 barrel carb. The head mfgr is using "3V" to indicate that it's between the factory 2V and 4V heads in valve and port size.
@vadenk44339 ай бұрын
Canadian Selkirks or Washington state Selkirks? I'm a Washington Selkirk hunter/explorer/prospector And yeah the 3V head is meant as an in-between sized head. You get the best of both worlds, the low end torque/street ability of a 2V but with closed chamber combustion chambers, and also the massive valves and air flow of the 4V. An Australian company called CHI makes them and the intakes that fit them.

When I look at the front of the Cleveland block , there is a horseshoe shape in the casting .which sticks out like an inch and a half , where the timing cover bolts on. On the block you are showing here it looks more like a Windsor with the Windsor style timing cover . Why is that ? Just wondered. Thanks
@danielwilson66653 жыл бұрын
Sean Madill the block used for this build is an aftermarket SHP Windsor block with a 9.2” deck height. As you pointed out the front of the block is quite a bit different than a Cleveland block.

Ford Windsor and Cleveland engine blocks have the same cylinder bore centerline spacing and head bolt locations which makes it very easy to use superior flowing canted valve Cleveland heads on Windsor blocks. The combination is commonly known as a Clevor engine. OEM and aftermarket Windsor blocks are more plentiful and the extra.300”deck height (9.200” Cleveland, 9.500” Windsor) makes getting more displacement easier with additional stroker kit combinations. Modern aluminum alloy blocks with Cleveland specific architecture featuring upgraded priority main bearing oiling and choice of deck heights are now being produced in an American foundry. All machine work and sales are being handled by Timothy Meyer. tmeyerinc.com

@@terraboundmisfit , there’s nothing in my comment that suggests that this is a Cleveland block. I simply pointed out the identical dimensions that both blocks have in common.
