This is a compilation of drivers that are either confused about the signage, or ignoring the signage.
Either way, it results in people (driving unauthorized vehicles) violating the rules, by either going straight, or sitting there holding up authorized vehicles and it's driving the TTC crazy!
I posted this compilation for entertainment reasons.
King Street in Toronto has a TTC streetcar/bus priority corridor that runs east/west from Jarvis St to Bathurst St.
Throughout the corridor at most intersections, drivers can only turn right.
TTC vehicles, all buses, cyclists, construction vehicles, emergency vehicles, and other authorized vehicles are allowed to go straight.
The goal, is to speed up TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) service by reducing the number of vehicles on the road.
Unfortunately, drivers are regularly not following the rules and are either confused, or ignoring the road signs that forbid them from going straight.
This increased TTC streetcar/bus travel times significantly. Articles and studies prove it.

Now, new changes to traffic signals will never allow drivers to go straight!
New dedicated signals for TTC vehicles and authorized vehicles were installed as well!
The TTC & authorized vehicle signals will be green during the right turn phase and the pedestrian phase.
The yellow vehicle signals will never turn green anymore! It will only display the right turn green arrow when the light is red.
For drivers that don't follow the King St rules (or those that don't read road signs) where you cannot go straight, they'll be waiting at the red light, as long as it takes for them to read the road signs and turn right.
Because most Torontonians don't seem to know how to read road signs, hopefully it forces them to read the signage and just turn right.
It proves just how many Torontonians don't pay attention to or read road signs, and how many Torontonians should not have their driver's license.
This was also done, because it means unauthorized drivers going straight is considered running a red light. It will be easier to accuse people for breaking the rules, because running a red light is a bigger violation than disobeying a "no going straight" sign.

That is wild haha! Protected only right for personal vehicles and thru movements for authorized vehicles with updated signal placements.

And despite stuff like this the MTO refuses to make those symbolic quebec/USA/waterloo transit signals a thing in Toronto🤦. There are numerous reasons why having to rely on signs to identify signals is a bad idea.

Sure there are a lot of signs, but the drivers aren’t obeying any of them. No left turn at any time. No straight through except authorized vehicles. And there’s a RED LIGHT.

The amount of signs is very confusing. A simple right turn only sign and a no entry sign would work fine. Also, the transit only lanes seem poorly marked. Bright red muni style lanes would likely help.

@@j-bird1778 Agreed! Queen's Quay at Spadina has red paint on the streetcar tracks and a "do not enter streetcars excepted" sign. The Quebec province uses "right turn only" signs! They should do the same and put "right turn only buses, TTC vehicles and authorized vehicles excepted" sign. It's also labeled as "P-110-2-D" in the Ministry Transportation Quebec road sign book manual.

Well of course there's confusion. 5 different signals and like 20 signs all over the place. Just one more step to BAN private cars from driving here.

I thought private motor vehicles are already prohibited from occupying railcar only lanes, kind of like how cars are not permitted to continue straight through an intersection where explicitly prohibited (for private motorists) as indicated by observable roadsigns that are implemented with the intent of providing adequate and expeditious operation of public transport vehicles therefore decreasing wait times, increasing reliability, and improving safety and efficiency in addition to quality of life improvements for those who rely on public transportation for their daily commutes to-and-from work. But that could just be me 😅

@@jaysedanno, it's a shared street both cars and trams have traditionally shared the same right of way. You can see the tracks are flush with the road surface. They're called street CARS for a reason.
