@SWog6175 жыл бұрын
@adrian collette No real help for who? We're not supposed to welcome our soldiers home when they come back from overseas? They wouldn't do that in your country? Stupid comment.
@SWog6175 жыл бұрын
@@deusmuerte6832 Yet another stupid anti-American comment. Don't watch these videos if you dont want to. I'm assuming you're not forced to in your country. My country has tried to do a lot for the rest of the world, and I believe our motives are good. Doing it for the oil is ridiculous. Doing it so others don't use that oil to try to throw the rest of the world into economic chaos and crisis? Well if that's part of it, I don't mind. Oh, and when people from other countries stop plotting to fly planes into buildings, and coming up with heinous ways to kill innocent people, maybe we won't have to do so much traveling.
@SWog6175 жыл бұрын
@adrian collette I appreciate what our military does, as well as the people in your family for doing it. I can only try to understand how you must feel having someone you care about being that far away for so long, and putting themselves in harm's way. It takes special people to do that. But videos like this are not propoganda...these are people getting off planes, not doing showy flyovers in them. These videos simply capture the moments when they're reunited with their families. I'm guessing the reunions are like that with your family too, no matter how weary of the conflict we're getting to be by now. It's just good to see...that was my original comment.

The funniest "Soldier Surprise" I have ever been involved in was for a good friend of mine back in high school. She was a fairly new student to our school even though I had known her for years and she was feeling down as Chanukah was approaching and her brother and cousin were serving overseas, one in Germany as a medical technician and another as a MP. They were both able to have each other during the holidays but they coordinated a brief period of leave for both of them. Anyway, to cheer her up they came to her music class since it was the last actual class for her that day and she could get out of the rest of the day. To begin the surprise I "snuck in" to her class ansd she was surprised to see me walk in and tell her I was gonna snag her out of class for the rest of the day and she wouldnt go (because she didnt want to get in trouble...but this was expected and her Choirmistress was in on the gag). The teacher said she couldnt just leave so I told the teacher So I shrugged and said "Well I guess I will just have to take you out under guard and lets watch them stop us" and in walked both in BDU's and she completely lost it. One of the more amusing aspects of it was that while she hadnt been very included in the various social circles up till then she was certainly getting alot more girls coming up and introducing themselves to her....because so many of the young ladies who were there and those who later saw the video thought her brother was so cute (her cousin was too but she was already married with a husband and kid so that kinda kept away the boys from asking heh)

@@johnstreet7656 Battle, I got this. While "down range", the return to home seeing family is a far distant dream. The service embeds the ability to remain composed regardless of situations. Seeing family and friends is nothing less than "eye candy". It takes a little while for the brain to register the "enjoyable view" is real. It took a while for me to register my other first name. As I retired from the National Guard, we started calling each other by our first names to register hearing it out of uniform.
