What a charming man. I observed him being so polite and friendly to autograph seekers whilst trying to have a quiet coffee with his wife and a few friends (I think) whilst visiting our little hilltop town of Cortona in Tuscany, last year. Then they got into their people carrier, and he waved graciously as they drove away. Such a thrill. Grazie mille!

My favorite actor ever. Hope he does get reconciled with his daughter. Cannot beat this Welsh actor. Love you Anthony.

Sir Anthony Hopkins, is on par with Richard Burton as the best ever actor from Wales. I once had the honour of hearing a ‘share/talk’ from one of his long term friends I met in recovery. He spoke so humbly, and I stole one of his humorous answers to being offered a drink. He was on a flight on a Thursday, the hostess offered him his free glass of champagne…his reply? ‘No thank you dear, I have to be in work on Monday!’ Class. I have an estranged relationship with my daughter and the AA Big Book has a sentence that the children of alcoholics are often difficult and blameless…this is very true. He will always be remembered for his acting skills and rightly so. Just For Today, Tony God bless you ❤

Hopkins' estrangement from his daughter is sad, but it is a matter entirely between him and his daughter, and is none of the public's business. And it takes nothing away from his talent as an actor. And exactly what "rumors" did his daughter confirm? He's made no secret of it!

Sir Anthony is one of the greatest actors. His personal life is none of our business. I am an adoptee. I was born + adopted in Liverpool, England. My mother chose to give me away to strangers. I was 1-month old. In my 30s I obtained my original Birth Certificate. In my 60s I found my KEPT half-siblings. I found my father's name but he does not exist as he should be on the Alien Register for Merseyside, he is not. Abigail Hopkins, please reconcile with your father if that is at all possible.

Sir Anthony Hopkins is a legend in the world of entertainment and in real life he is an extraordinary human being with a big heart. He will never admit to anyone who hurt him, he knows how to forget and he moves on with his life. The people who hurt him have lost more than he suffered, you will see that in the years to come. He is very happy in his new stage of life.

The priority question of whether Sir Antony Hopkins is affected by his estrangement with his daughter (?) should be ? ... "How is his daughter's life affected and not fulfilled in entirety (finished 'education') by her estrangement to her Father"...
@ericheine241413 күн бұрын
It's very hard to have reconciliation with your child if her mother has poisoned the well repeatedly at a young age. The child believes that she made the choice when really it was the mother in control. At what age do we really begin to think for ourselves.

I did seven years of college after my divorce including filmmaking. Media degree. I had no clue how I would be approached or treated in the entertainment world as a divorced woman being looked at as if I were a groupie instead of someone who could bring my intuitive gifts to improve the world in some way.

I garnered no respect or dignity. Actors have people who create chaos. Families who feel privileged. I'm thinking I wonder how many children of actors are doing the voiceovers on these videos. I wanted to use my voice. Took radio and tv production classes.

Actors in general are struggling with alcohol and other addictions, and are sometimes even suicidal. They are in so many different personalities and roles, I think they will sometimes get lost from their own personalities, that their real life is getting stranger to them. That the surrounding cant deal with them and finally let them go for their own protection, his daughter probably won’t contact for her own protection. I don’t say that it’s the right way but understandable, I wish everyone involved a lot of wisdom and love ❤❤❤❤❤

No You can clearly see how much he loves her. Clearly she is carry pain from something that happened in his active alcoholism that as with my own children she may find it in her heart to forgive him for what ever happened between them. In the mean time the hurt doesn't ever leave you, however they become moments in time and when that happens to me I remind myself that my own children have made decisions for themselves which I accept and understand, because living with my active alcoholism was so very hard on them. I know my children have gained great lives., married with children all have careers and own their homes and from the photos I get to see through third parties they appear happy. I would never impose myself on them as they have made it clear they wish to have no contact, no phone no social media, my daughters have blocked everything. I love them so very much and continue to pray we find our way back to one another. All in Gods hands and in Gods plan. Thank God for my 33 years sober and living a great life.

It's very sad. He wasn't there for his daughter much in the first 10 years of her life, largely due to his drinking and by the time he sobered up and put some effort in the damage had been done. I can imagine being little Abigail at 7 years old wondering why her famous rich daddy didn't care about her, it's not like when this happens to a normal family, her mum couldn't say he was a deadbeat dad, Abigail could see him being charming and witty on television, she knew he was wealthy. So she couldn't even pretend why her Dad couldn't see her. Poor little lass, she knew there was nothing stopping her daddy from coming to see her. It must've been really hard on her.

No one has perfect parent ,& no one has perfect children .SOME CHILDREN WILL FORGIVE & MOVE ON. OTHER WILL CARRIE THE PAIN BUT ACCEPT WHAT IT WAS &STILL WILL KEEP CONTACT WITH THEIR PARENTS, THINKING IT WAS WHAT IT WAS. BUT THERE IS THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT TO LET GO OR FORGIVE PARENT MISTAKES holding to the idea that< my parent should have been better OR PERFECT> & CHOSE revenge by TO NEVER TALK TO THEM EVEN IF IT WAS NOT THE PARENTS FAULT BECAUSE OF THE PARENT PERSONAL HILLNESS OR ISSUES. MR HOPKIN MADE MISTAKES MORE OR LESS LIKE ALL OF US WHO HAVE HADTO RAISE CHILDREN, SOME HAD MADE BIGGER MISTAKES OR WHERE MEAN OR NASTY PARENTS BUT THEY WHERE LUCKEY TO HAVE HAD GREATEFULL FORGIVING CHILDREN. LIFE IS ALL ABOUT LUCK NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF PARENTS YOU WHERE.

@@solomon-uu5xh whats wrong with a man hitting the depths of despair then finding god and then rescuing himself and his life and being reborn again. Some of these people you speak to them and they will tell you they wouldn't do anything any other way even if they could turn back the clock, otherwise they wouldn't of become who they did. For many it is written in the stars that they must destroy themselves before they see the light . Otherwise what would be the point in life??? If a man never had the chance of redemption or a second chance,, what's the point in that?? And what's the alternative?? To throw everyone under the bus and say they are doomed forever,, this is futile way of looking at the world if ever there was one. I see hopkins as inspirational person who despite all his wealth is just a normal down to earth honest bloke trying to put a positive message out there. And for someone who's been sober as long as he has, after having a big drink problem, for me this is a sucess story.
