The calculator's TABLE mode can generate a table of points to help us draw the graph of a function, provided we input the function correctly.
We still need to draw an accurate parabola. I have drawn the best one I can given the limitations of the software, but doesn't quite cross through the points for -2 and 3 accurately.

I was playing with my calculator about some time ago and when I clicked the mode and looked at the table I saw f(X)= and honestly didn't think about it that much. Times passed and my teacher suddenly wrote this formula on board and I remembered the formula I saw on my calcu and I was so effing happy, I only shared it to my friends tho. What is a good app for finding the function rule or creating a formula using x values and f(x) values? I can graph the points, but I need to make a formula like x^4 + 7x^2 -2. Currently, doing college algebra, but haven't done any of this in 22+ years. All I have are the graph points to do this with.

You wouldn’t be able to draw a graph on this model of calculator. The video shows you how to produce a table of points if you are asked to draw (with a pencil) a graph in the exam. The Table mode can be used to produce the points to plot.

Hi there, I hope you provide some advice on how to I can tabulate the following (if possible). I've got a fx-CG50 and trying to use it assist me in being able to (quickly) number crunch an answer to an A Level Maths Maths Proof by Counter Example question. Given (p + q) >= SQRT(4pq) where p and q are positive show by means of a counter example that the inequality does not hold when both p and q are negative. So, as (kind of) an analogy in Stats mode, you can provide a list of x and a list of y and perform regression etc. I want to be able to have a list of values for x, a list of values for y, and result lists as the function = p + q and list SQRT (4pq).Then, subjectively trawl through the result list looking for a counter example. Is this "do-able"? Is there a workaround? Really struggling as the table functionality only seems to allow for y = ftn(x). Hope this makes sense.

.... just to add, yes, Im aware an answer is trivial e.g. p = q = -1 is a counter example, but just using this as a simple example. So, looking for a number crunch way for a non trivial example that might save time in an exam.

There isn’t the option to do so. X has to be the independent variable.

f(x) is essentially y, so you couldn't input what you have written. The function for TABLE is a function of x, so essentially no. The only variable you can have at one time is x.

You would just have to choose the ending for yourself within the limits of the calculators memory. Maybe 25 results.

I don’t think you can. If you are talking about Comp mode. This is essential what the Table mode is there for!
