It was really helpful thank you! I'm in the UK and I'm doing content creation full time which for some sounds like the best thing every but I still feel a massive amount of unease due to the instability of income (general self emplyment really). Looking to do a balance of my content creation and study towards something like accounting however this is all things that I'll need to think through! Your video was massively helpful in providing clarity on what to expect! Thank you!!

Hi Katie, thanks for the video it was very informative! I'm planing to start online university in 2024 and I found 2 suitable option for me. One of them is OU the other is UoL ( University of London). I've found mixed reviews online about both institute. Have you heard anything about UoL?
@katielouisemaynard
@katielouisemaynard 5 ай бұрын
Hi ☺️ first of all good luck with your studies! I haven’t heard of UoL but from having a look at their website it seems all their courses are fully accredited too! I guess it depends on what you’re hoping to study and which courses are available. UoL appears to have quite a few options but for me, open university looks to have a lot more to choose from and in my opinion is a more recognisable organisation. ☺️

Hi 😊 good luck and I hope you got the results you wanted but if not that’s okay! 🥰 I don’t really know what advice I could give in this situation but I’d really recommend having a look at some of the open learn courses which are free so that you can try some out as this will give you a bit of an idea on how the modules run with OU. Traditional uni isn’t for everyone, it certainly wasn’t for me so the OU would probably be a great choice for you if you don’t feel that a traditional uni is the best choice for you. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to reach out! ☺️

Hi! This is really hard to answer! I guess it depends on your own preference and what works best for your lifestyle and what you’d like to study. I personally would say yes as traditional uni isn’t for everyone but other people thrive in that type of environment. 😊

Hi, you can fast track but I’m not 100% sure if you could do a full 4 year course in 1 year as that would be quite a lot of work and the goal is really to make sure you pass and obtain your qualification. I’d advise just reaching out to discuss before enrolling. Hi there! Open University courses are open to everyone regardless of your educational background so not having these qualifications should not cause an issue. You can check out the BSc (Honours) Computing and IT course requirements here: www.open.ac.uk/courses/computing-it/degrees/bsc-computing-it-q62 😊 they also offer these courses at diploma level. I am planning to work in another country in order to have the possibility to pay for university. In Poland, the salary is not enough unless you work in a specific field or in jobs that don't require a bachelor's degree. I found an option where people can take "Part-Time Tuition Fee Loans for students in England," but it's only available in England and even for EU citizens, it's not sufficient; you have to live there. On the other hand, I would need to learn a new language like German to have the opportunity to work there. I'm hoping and praying that the universe or God will guide me towards finding a simple job that will allow me to afford my university education.

You can find out more details on the cost and any funding available here: www.open.ac.uk/courses/fees-and-funding - just make sure you change the country to wherever you live to make sure you get accurate information ☺️ I hope this helps!

Hello, I am studying business administration at the Arab Open University, and I will get a double degree from the Open University in Britain. I want to know if graduates can work in Britain like any university, or because it is an open university, it is difficult to find jobs?
@katielouisemaynard
@katielouisemaynard 11 ай бұрын
Hi! 😊 this one is quite difficult for me to answer because I also haven’t graduated yet nor have I used an OU degree to try to find employment at this time. What I would say is that I believe lots of employers view an OU degree the same as any other regular UK degree. Make sure highlight the skills you learn from home learning on your CV too such as being ‘self disciplined or self motivated’ etc but I can’t see it being any more difficult to find a job with an OU degree in comparison to anywhere else. 😊
