Really good beginners guide. I think some of the stuff on GW is far too advanced and puts people off as too hard or crushes kids hearts when they can’t achieve the same standards. 👍

No, do not get mouldline removers! They are absolutely worthless and a waste of money. You get much better results with a hobby knife, scalpel, or a file. And both hobby knives and files can be found for less than 4€ - 5€ each, even in expensive Sweden.

I generally don’t bother with them either, but as a video covering the basics I fly it important to mention them at least

@@ThePickleJar that’s also true :) My mind might have slipped for a moment, it tends to do that, but where is the mention of the most important part of miniature building and painting, a cold, or hot, beverage? And a free piece of cylindrical trash to put the miniature on while painting.

Haha. I'm surprised. GamesWorkshop would *not* approve of people using "unofficial" brand modeling equipment. Especially essentials like paint, glue & primer hahaha

@@ThePickleJar Oh they care. In fact they ate one of those companies that literally goes out of it's way to promote paint colors / primers that are exclusive to GW. Thankfully other companies have stepped up and made alternatives. Tamiya makes some grade A products though. Even some small color L.E.D lights for a highly customized model.

Hiya mate great tips here! - At last a video which is to the point and helpful and in a great nothern accent -which i can relate to lol! I just wondered if you might be able to help? I am a complete beginer with figure painting but have an art background so should be fine with the painting part. Basically, I collect transformers and am trying to 'repair' or colour match this chrome orange colour which is flaking off the figure 🙈The figure has like a chrome metallic orange with a mirror finish - so I was going to by some GSW paints as the metallic chrome and some of the other orange inks look like they might work? However do you know would I mix this with an orange first or water it down and put it over the top? any advice or tips woud me amazing - its been really hard to get any specific answers as its a bit of a specific thing I am asking lol!🤣

Yep, the large piles of Star Wars Legion, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Arcworld, X-Wing and various D&D 3D prints that fill my hobby room are a constant reminder :)

I’d have loved to have something like this when I started out. Lovely start up guide for people just starting the hobby (I’ve been able to pick up a few tips even though I’m like half a year in to painting!) Any advice on gluing points with really tiny connections… deamonette claws looking at you, I have a right nightmare of a time trying to stick them down.

Ahh, the tiny connection point. Bane to every hobbyists life. No real suggestions tbh, stuff like that is kinda just a grimace snd get on with it job. If you’re using plastic glue, give it a few seconds to go tacky/melt the plastic it’s on a little before putting the piece on. That way it should grab quicker. Can’t recommend tamiya thin enough for this :)
