This is the complete build including painting and light weathering of the Trumpeter 1/35 German armored locomotive. kit #00223.
ALL COUPLE OF ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS:
I use a Iwata HPC airbrush and compressor.

The "arms" for the driving wheels are called coupling rods, and the process of setting them up do they don't bind is called "quartering". The pop-off roof section and the circular plug on the base plate implies the provision of a motorising kit

I wonder if the rings were meant to hold camouflage? Seems like a waste as the phrase "oh, the barn sized bush with smoke pouring out of it as it rushes down the railway tracks couldn't possibly be a threat to us" has never been uttered.

Hi Andy, great video! Sorry, but there is a problem with the color. The Nr.16 was planned with 2 2cm-quad-flaks on the front/end-cars. In this stage the paint was grey as loco for the armoured train "SP42". Then they built it ready and took the russian guns and painted the monster complete in sandyellow, like all armoured vehicles in 1944. In action it has the usual three-colored camo sandyellow, brown, green.

good build again Andy .I am on the same kit and got the dame problems withe the axeks but I took actually the same way .I gues my will take much longer to be finished and I will apply a 3tone camo to it .And I have a new project to build the early version with the quadflaks on it .I don´t take the rings from the kits i do them from bend wire .

Awesome work, Andy! I have built the Trumpeter BR 52 and BR 86, and was considering the diesel, but there is nothing under the hood! Just not worth the money for so much space. :(( Your models are cool. I weathered my track for both locos, but I like your idea of having the sleepers and rails on top of a platform. I added scale aggregate to the Trumpeter parts, but there isn't enough space, as their plastic is level with the sleepers. Next time... :)) How do I post pictures within the comments? I have images, but on Flickr.

The PE is a hassle and looks to flat, would have been better in plastic.

This might be a stupid question but do you know what all the little rins are for? Nice build by the way. The first axles were the ends 6 or 8 sided? If 6 then you may have got the end plates 90% out

Dismantle the armour for repairs if damaged and to access train components for service. Was also used to help build the thing as they could use railway cranes to move the armour into position for welding.

The PE is a real hassle, and i went to the extreme to drill open all the ventilation holes in the roof grilles... it seems there is no after-market PE for those.

The train wheels have to be 'quartered', that is one side is offset by 90deg to the other, if you didn't do this the wheels would lock up and wouldn't turn on a real locomotive
