Sir I have confusion...ph scale H+ ions dekhta h ya OH ions aur oH jyada hoga to acid hoga ya base
@insightssb
@insightssb Жыл бұрын
The strength of acids and bases depends on the number of H+ ions and OH- ions produced, respectively. If we take hydrochloric acid and acetic acid of the same concentration, say one molar, then these produce different amounts of hydrogen ions. Acids that give rise to more H+ ionsare said to be strong acids, and acids that give less H+ ions are said to be weak acids

Sir it's Rutherford who discovered proton not Goldstein
@aryamanchoudhary7376
@aryamanchoudhary7376 Жыл бұрын
Well technically, Goldstein did come up with the concept of a positively charged particle in an atom much earlier than Rutherford, hence he is said to have co-discovered the proton
@twinkler2854
@twinkler2854 Жыл бұрын
Observed as H+ by Eugen Goldstein (1886). Identified in other nuclei (and named) by Ernest Rutherford (1917-1920). Wikipedia says this. It's quite confusing, maybe upsc won't put both Goldstein and Rutherford for proton but that's just my guess

5:13 there should be sodium and calcium instead of Mg and Ca
@insightssb

Calcium and magnesium are two metals that start floating after some time when immersed in water. The bubbles of the hydrogen gas so formed in the reaction stick to the surface of the metal surface, and thus the metals float on water.
