I really hope Kratos comes back as a guest character. Not only does he have a whole new set of gear that could be great for a fighting game along with having a lot of potential for intros (Prior experience with MK and being a new person essentially can make for some interesting conversations), but Sony has become less stingy over the years so NRS could likely talk them into allowing the God of war to be in all versions.

Single console exclusive characters was a dumb cross promotion choice imo. It didn't usually affect the games meta in any significant way, that character is less played since it will be banned from competitive to include players from all platforms (with crossplay it could unbalance the play field between consoles) and ultimately players would desist from spending money in that character for those reasons in the first place, not getting to know the games/show/movies/comics they came from.

Kratos and his arena were both done very well. I wish my boy saw some actual tournament play but alas. Also dude who is 2 meters+ is the shortest in cast lmao Alien's Tarkatan variation was a very creative way of including Baraka, I think. Triborg is also excellent. DLC characters seem to be just far better made in general.

Base characters are worked on by the majority and since production starts they get a lot of work that when the game drops the last stuff they work on is new characters for that game and to add certain variations to change the game up then the guest characters are the balance to see how they are doing if a character is broken they fix it then add a new op character to balance out the busted one with a better player happens every year now when the game just comes out

Joker in Mortal Kombat is really funny to me because the only reason he keeps breathing in the DC Universe is because of how many heroes have a no kill rule. Mortal Kombat is a completely different environment, a vast majority of characters would not hesitate to kill Joker.

Playing as Kratos after God of War 3 is super cool. He has items which he got during the game and they work exactly the same. Blades of chaos, Hermes's boots, Head of medusa, Head of , bow of Apollo, the list goes on. Cool detail is Kratos arena which is eternal flame chamber from the game finale where you fight Zeus

Completely agree about Freddy. He became famous (infamous) for being pretty much the only horror movie villain that had a personality. Every other monster of the week would lumber toward you without speaking, but Freddy always had a slick comment or put down to say as he closed in for the kill. I think NRS would do a much better job incorporating that into the game today. Freddy for MK12!

I'm a Rambo main, and thanks to him being pretty unpopular, nobody knows how to counter, I play with the m60, combo extensions, and the roll, thanks to his extended combo command grabs he's unstoppable face to face, and the m60 is an amazing counter to zoners, Rambo is slept on

Pre-DLC I was a pretty devout Shang Tsung/Kano main but nowadays I find myself almost exclusively playing Robocop & Rambo. It's super fun watching players like Roethor, Destroyer & Sooneo get wins with them they are so fun! Another excellent video K&M!

The reason why you dont see a lot of rambos is because hes more based on the skill of the player.. you have to work with him because his moves are very situational hes like yoshimitsu in tekken.. lots of diffrent tools for diffrent stuff but you dont use all of them all the time..

The hilarity with MK Robocop is that he's extremely simular to Robocop: Alpha Commando. Both versions are basically Inspector Gadget with weapons, and are much quicker than the movie version.

I used to use robocop as a close combat character when he first came out using the low shot, rocket wrist, and flamethrower, I would even use the parry as a guessing gaming, since I’ve used Kano before and knew how to peer pressure player and mess with their minds from time to time

Not gonna lie, I find it hard to go back to the other two modern MKs just because they don't have Spawn in them. Yes that is a completely shallow reason but dammit he was always one of my favorite comic book characters and I was so bummed out he didn't make the cut in Injustice 2 where he would have been awesome, calling out the Regime on their bullshit left and right. But hey, being able to explode punks like Shao Kahn and Evil Liu Kang with that cape was definitely the way to go. Plus using both of Johnny Cage's Fatalities on Joker is something I never knew I wanted so badly in my life :3 And holy cow this ended up being the definitive fighting game to live out the cinematic rivalry between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.......okay fine they didn't actually get Arnold but still. _Dude they finally put Sora in Smash Bros, oh man they got SS4 Gogeta in FighterZ now!_ Who fucking cares?! This game has Arnold VS. Stallone! XDXDXDXD

That Jason armored state I like to call the "Kakarooooooooot!" Move because in DBZ Raging Blast 2 broly had this really broken super called "Kakarot!" that negated all hit stun for the entire duration that his Chakra bar decreases. Biggest scrub killer in that game because you're forced to flee if you take Broly on in that state you will lose unless you're godlike with the instant transmissions.

I played Jason a lot in Mkx. It was always funny to get people in the corner and get the damage buff up with relentless because they’d freak out and try to armor out just to get slapped. Also found a situational tech with him. If you guess someone will try to wake up with armor use a fast button (I like b1 and f3) into enhanced bear hug. 1st hit hits the armor and command grab punishes it so it’s only good for safe wake ups.

The sad bit is I wanted to join a tournament for MK9. But when I found out Kratos was banned - I was a God of War fanatic at the time, odd as that may be - I became somewhat despondent. Didn't really have a stable internet either, so online play was impossible. A part of me wonders if MK9 will ever get re-released. Then again, I also wonder when MK Arcade Kollection & a version of MK Trilogy will be released, minus all the bugs/negatives.

MK-9 Kratos: It’s almost sad how he was banned considering how good he could have been. MK-9 Freddy: Have you ever been zoned? ‘Yes.’ Would you like to? MK-X Jason: A simple, beginner friendly character that anyone can get into with a lot of utility. (Personally I love him whenever I go back to MK-X) MK-X Predator: Do you love his franchise? You better have a change of pants ready for this entry. MK-X Leatherface: Leatherface is a surprise hit in recent eras. You’ll have fun with this guy. MK-X Alien: Prepare to bite faces, he was the strongest character in the game but you can still play him well. MK-11Terminator: Get to the controller. He is very grab based and you can have a lot of variety of grabs. Also, crushing blows can be fun. MK-11 Joker: A very *very* strong character with some of the best base kit pieces in the game. He is extremely strong. MK-11 Spawn: Highly demanded and is very cool. Competitively he was rough but now is kinda demanding but is still pretty good if you get the timing down, enjoy the damage! MK-11 Robo-Cop: Freddy 2, Zoning Boogaloo. Enjoy being on the opposite side of the screen and the highest health pool in the game. MK-11 Rambo: Your abilities are very key on what your Rambo will be doing. If you can get good at him then you’ll be fine but it will be harder then other characters. TLDR: If you like guest characters then you’ll be just fine playing them in a competitive setting (except maybe Rambo)
