I had a dog that looked exactly like Daisy. They told us she was a Malti-poo. She lived to be 13. She had the same fur texture, body shape, face shape, and lots of gunk always around her eyes. I sat transfixed through the whole video. My Daisy also was not a fan of being groomed. Hated baths. Was only tolerant, as you said. It was like seeing you groom my Daisy. It was sweet, but it did make me cry. I'm saving this video to watch again. I miss her so much. Thank you for being so sweet with her. Susie, Port Washington WI

@Go Groomer My daughter, that's almost 25, loves dogs & loves to trim their hair (she has two golden doodles). She's currently a Realtor (but it's a tough time to be in RE). She thought about maybe getting into grooming, but the grooming school here in Utah is $11,000, which she cannot afford right now. She found out you don't have to be certified by a college to groom dogs. Can you suggest anything she can do to get started until she can afford school, or is that something you just can't get away with? Thank you 😊

Your videos have really helped me with home grooming. I have a Shih Tzu and a Bichon. They require a lot of grooming as you well know. They don't mind grooming so that makes it easy for me! Of course, they don't look as good as a professional but I live in SW Florida and keep them cut very short so they don't overheat on our multiple daily walks. However, they hate nail clipping, so I have to take them out to get that done. Other than that issue, I do clipping, ear cleanings and etc at home. Thanks so much for the valuable info!!!

I absolutely love Amy's Kenchii shears. They fit your hand so perfectly. There are slight finger indents where you hold the shears on the top, which are the only shears I have ever felt like I have complete control. (That is so important safety wise). By indents, i just mean like waves where your fingers go. No guessing with Amy's Sapphire Kenchii Shears. They are so sharp, and are perfect to do a good job using shears to even everything out. I already had a very nice set of Kenchii shears, but Amy's signature shears are the best. I am happy I invested in the entire set. My dogs have taken a step up in their "look" do to the shears. Another big "Thank You" to Amy.

I frequently watch your videos. I really enjoy the way you teach, and it makes me want to be at least a home groomer if not more. However, I am in my late 50s and have health issues, so that probably won't happen, except I will at least work on my own dogs. After watching your videos, I have begun brushing my dogs frequently, almost every day. One is a sheepdog mix and the other is a cavalier. As one groomer who did my big dog's nails told me, it looked like I groomed him with a weed wacker. But he's getting more tolerant and I'm getting better. I tried trimming the cavaliers nails, but I have bad central vision so it took me a while to get the nail in the right position to cut it and I used my thumb to try to make sure I would only be clipping the tip off, and I had help, but I only got one nail clipped. My baby yelped and bled, and I felt defeated and like a bad mom. I'll try a pet rotary trimmer, but I still probably won't be able to see the nail I'm working on much less get the tiny little sandpaper drum lined up with a nail. Ok, I'm rambling so I'll end this by saying that you give me hope beyond my abilities, but perhaps I just need to find work arounds to get past the things I am unable to do in the normal way. You make me want to try it and see. Thank you. -karen

@@GoGroomer I'm in the same position, Ive got my own 6yr old standard that I can do what I think is a great job on, even though she won't stop ..kissing me.. at anything closer than..her rump ;-D.. But I thought I'd have a go starting a dog wash business, moving into grooming over time, little by little. I've done a lot of family and friends' dogs over the years, but the first actual real client to contact me has a 16yr old, mostly blind Maltese with perhaps a splash of shiz. Her usual groomer can no longer work on him safely as she's heavily pregnant. The owner just wants him comfortable, nothing special just Hygiene and "short all over".. I don't even know what length that means to normal people! She's bringing him to me washed and dried as she thinks he'll be happier like that. She has also offered to stay as the other lady sometimes got her to hold him to help with his feet. He doesn't bite or anything, just fidgets and gets the shakes (dear old boy, I'm in love with him already!) Can you give me any advice or guide me to any particular video/s where you've discussed this? (age, blindness and length?) I have been watching your videos for quite some time and always come back when I want to learn something new. I'm zooming through them all again now to give myself reassurance. I think I'd be less nervous without puppy Mum there, but she's obviously a very caring mum, and that is a precious thing. Thanks again for your fantastic videos, I've always got something to watch ;-)

Hi there love your videos, I have a question for you. I’m hoping you can answer when grooming, a dogs face cutting its whiskers off. What is the damage if there is any damage. What is the function of the whiskers of the dog or cat? Would love to hear your response. And thank you in advance.

No damage if trimmed. Whiskers bell dogs sense their surroundings. Not heavily relied upon.
