True that, Paul. Some years back, I paid around $50 for access to drywall finishing videos by another contractor on his personal website. Ben's tips include stuff I didn't learn in the series I paid for.

I’ve been doing drywall on my own homes for the past 30 years! I’ve always sucked at it and eventually had to hire someone else to fix my jobs. That’s until now, after watching Ben’s videos, I’ve finally done a job I am proud of. Not a blemish , scratch or hump. Even the ceiling has no humps, bumps, cracks or air pockets. Thanks Ben very much.

I am just a couple hours south of the border from Vancouver BC but many materials and techniques are different. I would be so happy to buy you a coffee,my friend. Peace

Outstanding video. I’m a DIYer doing a major down to the bare studs house renovation. I’ll go a year or two between drywalling jobs, so I’ve been binge watching drywalling videos for weeks. Your videos are the absolute best! This one is one of the best with the voice over. Very informative and entertaining. I’m in the U.S.A. so some of the brands and types of mud are somewhat different. Keep up the good work!

Honestly, as a DIYer, seeing all the rough spots before you fill and mud, made me feel so much better about my own work. In my mind you think the pros never make mistakes or have to fill huge holes but what you're only seeing is the finished product. Not saying the skills are the same (i'm still learning) but it helps knowing filling gaps is just part of the process.

Hey Ben: Thanks for all the great drywall tips. I've been a carpenter/remodeler for three decades and can frame and trim with good efficiency. But nowadays around here you can't get a professional drywall contractor for anything less than a whole house so having to do my own drywall on remodels really hurt my ability to make bank. I've been trying some of your suggestions and I'm getting a lot faster and better. Much obliged. This is going to open up a lot more opportunities.

just bought my first house, orange peel (but just caused by bad painting years past) everywhere. Tons of patches were going to show through because going from smooth patch to textured is always gonna show through paint so I decided to give skim coating the walls a go. I used a hawk and trowel for the first time and used all the things I learned from watching your vids and I have to say, all though it doesnt look like you did it, it look amazing none the less, and I have neurological issues with my hands right now so that hawk and trowel was a god send! I couldn't imagine how much pain I would have been in trying to do that with a pan a knife... Thanks ben!
