Complete Engine removal BMW E60 525i/530i

Great vid, I leave the trans in when I do these just remove the driver motor mount bracket it helps clear the steering rack, hang the AC and power steering to the side, (the service manual says to evacuate and unbolt lines for ac idk why?) Done. Lots of wiring and hoses to undo. I love it

After watching that it's put me off haha! I want to pull the motor out of my 07 bmw but oh my goodness bucket load of bolts screws and clips lol. But ive got plenty time on my hands

An engine swap will require numerous other things including but not limited to: engine mounts, accessory drive, wiring, computer, programming, etc.

Reprogramming injectors is not a concern for vehicles with an m54

What's your opinion on dropping the subframe, with engine and transmission connected, when replacing the transmission and turbos on a 535d?

In your case, it is likely easier to drop the subframe with engine/ transmission. I found it a little difficult to reinstall everything back in because the header kept getting stuck on the subframe. I assume it would have been even more difficult with the turbos.

@@Rurik_JustCruzn Thanks for your reply. That's exactly what I was afraid of. This is my daily driver, so I think I'll replace one thing at the time to keep the down time low. Also, I don't have a lifting table, and I guess using a two post lift to manuvre everything out and in again, may give me some trouble. Just found your channel. Will check out your other videos too. Big thumbs up.

As long as the engine is an m54b30. It should bolt up just fine. The only problem is that it will require a different tune.

It's the same chassis and engine bay, so it will definitely fit. The problem is changing everything over to support the new engine.

Your job is so good But you making that very dificult When i remove engine bmw models Often i move from under engine and it is very easy The contitioner, radiators, sterring wheel pump is on the car Also front parts. Also i take it gearbox

They were offered in both rear wheel drive and all wheel drive. The car in this video is rear wheel drive.
