Wow, awesome tutorial! We just purchased the HS Essence here in Australia, and just learnt so much from your tutorial. We also looked at the Haval, but decided that the MG had some much more features and was great value for money….we love our MG HS Essence. The only down side is that you have to connect your phone through car play with a cord, to make a phone call. Hopefully future models will have this wirelessly. Thanks again for a great tutorial.

Fantastic video - the most detailed, practical and clear video I have seen in the MG HS. A must watch for any new owners!... If at all possible, would love a follow up video showing some of the MG HS features in a live "drive" context (such as Lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and auto hold). Would be great to see these in action to really grasp how they work!... Keep it up, great channel!

Well done, very good tutorial. We’ve just bought a new one and, thankfully checked first before filling, the car needs to have high octane fuel not normal 91. An important note that can invalidate your warranty if you don’t conform!

But it does, you just have to scroll the screen. Many other options are also available if you scroll the screen ! Just a tip ! 😃

As far as I know, there was only one update to this vehicle since it was released in NZ. It runs just as fast as the previous one. No major changes.

Can you change the dashboard layout? As in the position of the speedometer and rev counter. I can't seem to be able to get actual Dials and a digital number in the middle for the speedo. Thank you

Taking delivery of an HS Exclusive DCT in a couple of months so this video will be invaluable in setting up the car to the way I like it. Very comprehensive, thanks very much. One question: can I alter the temperature setting to Fahrenheit or will I be stuck with Celsius?

Good question. That's actually different from region to region. I don't have a firm answer. When you get the car, go to settings and see if you can find units.

I have an mg hs 2.0 L trophy 2021 model but theres something wrong with the driving assistance features, mine doesn't have lane assist and auto breaking system they're all missing in the car settings

Check with local specification to see if they were available for your car. Otherwise go to the dealer for repair

When you showed the lights you said you would later talk about how to put on the smart main beam but you forgot. Would you please tell me how to do this as it’s the only reason I watched the video 😢

Thanks for the comment. High beam is in the screen setting. Vehicle - comfort & convenience - lights. Some give extra option like auto high beam and some don’t. Just leave the lights on auto and it will switch on the high beam assist automatically when it is completely dark

Hey there, unfortunately, I don't think that is possible. The screen unit itself came with navigation from manufaturer. We cannot do add on as far as I know.

I am having Mghs. From some time I am facing an issue. When I am in drive mode and driving on any of little uphill Road. When u want to get some more power by pressing the accelerator. A sound of Tik tik come from like somewhere below race pedal from engine compartment and then the vehicle gets the power. Can some body please guide me what I should go for checkup. Either its engine or transmission issue. Please guide

It’s normal. Every petrol MG HS does that.

With fuel type does it have to be N95 or normal unleaded fuel can be used?

It has to be premium 95 or above as it is turbocharged engine.

Hi Jerry. I had a MG 2022 HS excite 1.5T fwd for only 10months before Accident total loss. no fault. but Ive gone with HS AWD 2.0T this time, 2023. i thought i would ask ur experience in the AWD version that has a wet clutch instead of a dry clutch. When i start drive forward it seems to surge, such as pulling away at an intersection ot whilst in traffic. i never had this with the FWD. its very noticeable but dealer claims thats because its a wet clutch. whats your drving experience comparing the two?

Yeah, it is normal with my experience as well. AWD has 6 DCT and FWD has 7 DCT. Different systems.

The HS has both. ZST only has tilt.

Excellent video, unfortunately it didn't show how to get the puddle lights to come on when opening the front doors. They used to work but not anymore. The lights are in the door mirrors to shine down.

There is no switch for it. If it stops working, it is the best to talk to your local dealer or repairer. Thanks

Hi there, I believe they are very closely spec'd but the NZ version follows the Australian version. You can still find some differences.

Hi there, if you are in NZ, the wait time isn't too long. Roughly a couple of weeks to 2 months depending on your colour preference. :D

Do you need to directly order in China and wait for a couple of weeks or months for the boat to arrive in the specific port here in NZ or AU? @@JerryPanandCars You need to calm down. Your English is SUPERB. That's not what I was saying. Of course I will watch your videos as you are very knowledgeable. It's the way you change the volume of your voice and mumble some words, it has NOTHING to do with your grasp of the English language, which is just as good as mine or anyone else's. I don't know why people get so offended. I have at least 50% hearing loss so it's extra hard for me. I don't take offence if people say "you must be deaf", cause I am. I simply suggested subtitles. The auto subtitles are not working, and youtube auto subtitles work REALLY well for the most part, so my point was that the algorithm can't understand you either. Like you said, it's free, so if some money would help you add features, like for example proper hand coded subtitles, perhaps you could consider a patreon. I would happily subscribe and I am sure many others would also. It might be something worth considering. I HONESTLY meant no personal offence and I apologise.
