You didn’t have to cut optical flow wire that can be done from transmitter quite easily. This has same electronics as MD-500 but love the larger battery vs MD-500 and the ducted fan tail is the bomb.

There's away to disable the optical flow on the Transmitter by pushing up on the altitude trim switch for 3 seconds

RC ERA They all act the same on Optical Flow. Yaw and Elevator aggressive. I put my C-189 MD500 on my Edge TX16S. Also my BO-105 on Edge TX16S. Protocol is E129/C186. Added 3 Rates with Expo and Curves. My MD500 seems Smoother Without Optical Flow. I unplugged it from the Board to test. Now I have Removed it from the bottom of Frame. Waiting on new Tailmotor to come Wednesday so I can Test Fly Frame only, without body shell. 😊

Thank you for the great review. 🎉 On the ERA C190, is it possible to cover the optical sensor hole with black tape instead of cutting the wires? 😮 My ERA C189 had a hard time landing in the desired spot. Because there is a lot of fluctuation😅

Welcome buddy. Yes you may try it. It may give you the worst or same as not having it. Possibly rc should not get any type of signals that there is an optical flow camera connected and then it will smooth the flight

It's a shame RCERA are persisting with using optical flow sensors. I have pre ordered the new model C-123 Jet Ranger and asked that it does not come with the optical flow sensor. RCERA now have put the Optical Flow Sensor for the C -123 as an option which is good news. I ordered the C-190 as well , so I will be taking your advice and disabling the sensor as well.

They should focus on programming their flight controller and optical flow better and improve performance rather than focusing on releasing new models that all come with the same issues. But who can tell them. Their brother company yuxiang uses the same optical flow units but. Their helicopters do not have such issues because they programmed their Flight controllers properly. collective pitch to some extent that its controlled by flight controller only and gives you only the control of helicopter movements. you can't tweak the pitches yourself.

Yes you can. Hold both sticks down and out, or down and in can start the rotors

@@garyjohnson2340 these do not need trimming. just make sure to put them on a leveled surface and calibrate gyro before take off

in the user manual it shows, normally its just holding both sticks down and left for a second or two. lights will blink on heli and it will calibrate. but make sure to put it on a very leveled surface.
