What I appreciate about this video is that you didn't waste my time telling me your life story, what your friends are doing, what I'm gonna want to do, how your dog is... Like a lot of the other comments say, to the point, unlike my comment but that's intentional for effect😎👍

Really good tutorial! Thanks for sharing! I was just looking at how to remove the suspension and steering set up, as I'm currently restoring my Firebird! Can you recommend a brand for all of the joints (Ball joints etc.) ACDelco only or anything else? Thanks
@3rdGenGuy
@3rdGenGuy 6 жыл бұрын
these vidoes cover the steering stuff kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5-pe4WLZ8d-bMk kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6iqZJxseq-Bh68 the ONLY balljoints you should use are the QA1 (1210-209P) www.summitracing.com/parts/qa1-1210-209p these joints are WAY better than the stock AC delco ones and offer MUCH better handling. they raise the front roll center by 1/2in, 3rd gens benefit from this by a LOT! the joint is also rebuildable and like $20 more than the AC delco one. BUT they will lower the front of your car my 1/2in (without messing up the geometry) keep that in mind.

This is an amazing video. Why did you change the K Arm? My Z28 has had all suspension parts changed except the K or cross member. The suspension is very noisy, rattles and every bump is noticeable. Will the K arm be part of the issue? Any help would be appreciated. Car drives like there are no shocks, strutts, a pillars etc.

you can tie it up and let it pop out. or use a spring compressor. it's unsafe to let the spring pop out, but ya

I have a question and hopefully you have the knowledge I'm after. Have you ever shoehorned a gen IV 454 into a 3rd gen Camaro? That's the project I'm currently on. I'm doing a full Spohn suspension swap to start, but my concerns are more fitting everything BESIDES the engine under the hood. It's gonna be carbed as well. I can't seem to find videos of the actual work, just idle or drag passes.

@3rdGenGuy
@3rdGenGuy 3 жыл бұрын
@@Dougie33 you can unbolt the A-arm, install the spring and use a jack to compress it up. it can be hard to get the A-arm bolt holes to line up though. i would recommend a face shield if doing that method.

Hello. Great video. I am trying to line up new poly motor mounts onto my '92 Camaro. The problem is that the RH will not line up into place. Will the engine leveler bar that you used help me correcting this problem? Thanks in advance for the advice.

SO i had some issues getting the Stock replacement motor mounts in. took 3-4 tries before they lined up. keeping the engine and K-member level helps a lot I bolted the mounts to the K-member and lifted the member up. it's a little different if you are just lifting the engine up.

I see you are using adjustable caster/camber plates. Which one do you use or recommend? I have a +camber issue that I can't fix using the stock plates. Would this help?
@3rdGenGuy
@3rdGenGuy 4 жыл бұрын
there's a few options.( i have a video on installing them) 1. HOTPART plates: they are the original and the ones i use. (best price) 2. Detroit speed: their plates are probably the best, but also VERY expensive. they have tons of cool features. 3. UMI has a HOTpart clone mount, but they use 3/4in opening holes, so you need a bushing to use stock struts.
