Very interesting project! I'm a bit concerned about the welded tabs on the fuel tank though, if they are mounted too securely they are prone to tear open the tank in case of a crash and significantly increase the risk of a fire. Instead of holes, open top U-shaped bolt slots and a securing strap on the bottom would be well secure enough but allow the tank to detach and not tear apart in an accident.
@ultralighthelicopter11 ай бұрын
Hy. Thanks for your suggestion about the fuel tank mount. I will take this into consideration for a future update.

I have some questions for the fuel tank, I didn't see you put in a pickup inside the tank, nor a float/sender either, how do you know when you're getting low on fuel? Also does the engine have a fuel pump to draw the fuel into the carbs? there's a lot missing from your assembly video, being an aircraft, I would think that knowing your fuel status is pretty important data to have, correct? Fill me in man. Other than that, your build seems to be going beautifully. I love the way you are making it your own and customizing a lot of it to your airframe. Excellent work my dude!
@letsgetsteve11 ай бұрын
No sump. No baffles. No sending unit. No lift pumps. (There are supposed to be 2 in aircraft from what I recall) Yeah man, I'm right there with you in having questions.

Pretty concerned about material selection and heat treatments/coatings etc... Also seems to have a lack of wired aircraft grade fasteners. If this is essentially a model then I totally get it, but if it is going to 100% be flying, my engineering alarms are going off big time. Again, stay safe man. This thing is cool but make sure it is safe.
