Much more informative than the manual that comes with the tool. I learned a couple of things that the manual didn’t even mention.

Hey! Great video Can I ask why the CT15 has a 2200w power tool connected rating while the CT midi only has 1200? Would have thought the M class would have had the same if not higher powered take off rating

My friend has been pleased with this vacuum. I put it together and other than one of the wheels coming back out(which I had a bit of difficulty with) kzbin.infoUgkxnBiz5H40H0BTcRcPDEHZkcV2smSjfUD0 it was easy to assemble. It's worked well and the large size has been handy for vacuuming up sawdust around my friend's tablesaw. The wheels and handle make it simple to move around, so the bulky size isn't overly a negative, unless you're lacking on space. It has a bag that can be used to collect the dust, though it doesn't have to be used. It works perfectly great without it and it is an added expense when replacing the bag. If vacumming water, just leave it out. It comes with various attachments, which are handy. A durable bag attaches to the handle to hold them and I love this feature. It has good power and it's a nice option for a shop vac.

Love mine, I used it with a ets ec 150 sander to remove all the old gelcoat off a glider and the filter hardly had a speck of dust in it. The bags work fantastic. I have the Bluetooth button too which is great when using it as a general vacuum for cleaning cars etc

Thanks. In my excitement to use my new ct midi extractor, I did not see how to attach the bag. I attached the bag to the port and tucked in the bag in a confused manner. I will remove the bag and do it right. Thanks for your demonstration.

i havent got any Bluetooth festool tools i want this for my festool sander corded and my domino is the Bluetooth still beneficial? do u need batteries to actually power the hoover itself? i see there ur turning it on and off with the remote are there batteries in the back?
@festoolaustralia
@festoolaustralia 11 ай бұрын
The Bluetooth system is a benefit even without tools as it allows the extractor to be turned on & off remotely. This enables quick working when using the extractor for clean-up purposes or when using the extractor with higher wattage tools.

Your review was very helpful for my buying decision. Thanks. Regarding the included 27/32 hose can you confirm that this means that the internal diameter of the hose is 27mm and the external diameter is 32mm. I am trying to figure out the connection options to my power tools while in lockdown in Melbourne. Cheers.
@festoolaustralia
@festoolaustralia 3 жыл бұрын
The internal diameter of the hose is 27mm at the tool end and tapers to a 32mm internal diameter at the extractor end. This taper is designed to give more efficient extraction. The actual measurement at the tool end with the flexible adaptor is 25mm.This may help you when confirming your power tool connections.
@willspencer3044
@willspencer3044 3 жыл бұрын
@@festoolaustralia Thank you. That is helpful. Do you happen to know the external diameter of the flexible adapter at the tool end? I assume that in some cases the flexible adapter will fit over the dust outlet connector on the tool e.g. stretch over a 27mm outside diameter outlets. In some cases, if the dust outlet on the tools has a larger external diameter and an internal diameter of say for e.g. 32mm or 35mm etc the flexible adapter will go inside the dust outlet connector on the tool. If I know the external diameter of the flexible tool adapter I can figure it out. Thanks.

The American version of this comes standard with a Hepa filter but that's an optional extra here in Aus. Is the M filter good enough for general woodwork including MDF?
@festoolaustralia

Yes M Class dust extractors are vital for use with hardwoods, board materials like MDF or when working on brick or concrete.

@festoolaustralia
@festoolaustralia 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Corin, thanks for the great question. We tend to avoid putting a specific time on it as it varies so much. One application or type of dust could fill up the bag or filter much quicker than another. The main indicator is if you're losing suction you need to check and / or change, otherwise it never hurts to manually clean as you work with the CTM MIDI. Justin

Is there a difference in the Aus version of this CT? On the USA website it states that the separator is NOT compatible with the MIDI.

What is the difference between the m class filter and hepa filter? Tks
@festoolaustralia
@festoolaustralia 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee. Great question, it can be confusing. Essentially the HEPA filter has greater filtration, whereas the make up of an M Class filter is suited for dust in that M Class category and avoids other safety risks like clogging. Importantly though, the rating of a dust extractor is based on the machine as a whole, not just the filter. So the best way to think of it is that an M Class extractor is approved and rated for M Class dust (eg cement, stone, concrete etc) while a HEPA filter on its own (totally separate from what extractor it is in) provides the finest level of filtration which is good for some dusts but not others (ie more abrasive dust). What speed setting are you supposed to have it on with a 27mm hose?
@festoolaustralia
@festoolaustralia 11 ай бұрын
If using 27mm hose the flow sensor should be set to the 27. The dial number are a flow setting and reference the hose being used so that the airflow can be measured so that when it falls down the safe level the audible alarm will sound.

At 7:35 you briefly mention the filter cleaner. How does it work and what does it accomplish?
@festoolaustralia
@festoolaustralia 2 жыл бұрын
The filter cleaning function pushes air through the filter to clean. This can be done before bag change or during the filling process. If done during the filling process, it has an effect to clear the bags breathable holes and improves the flow as its cleaned periodically.

Whats the difference between the CTL and the CTM, because al the specs are the same?
@travispagent937
@travispagent937 3 жыл бұрын
The difference is the size of the particulates released from the filter during extraction. You can get l, m and h class hoovers l being lowest h being best in class. As an example you can hoover asbestos, mould etc with a h class and none will be released back into the atmosphere but you couldn't with an l. I believe the m and h have full bag alarms too.

@@ellistv6245 Yeah, i agree. The M class Midi is identical except for an air volume sensor. It will beep when the hose is clogged. The M device is also commercially approved for wood and concrete dust.

You can operate the Kapex on the Midi but depending on your application and particularly if it was a heavy duty (cutting thick hardwoods) it may require the use of Bluetooth remote control to trigger the extractor.

Hi Modestas. Thanks for the question 👊 Yes, the Separator can be used with the CTM MIDI dust extractor. If you head to the CTM MIDI web page (www.festool.com.au/ctm-midi-15l-m-class-dust-extractor_576740.html), you can see it's listed as an accessory.
