i had trouble finding a comfortable tablet area so i took a paper and drew 10 different songs on paper then took arithmetic mean from both length and width and it turned out to be 48,36x46,45mm (1.04) for me aaaand its actually nice to play for my grip. Why is below 1.4 a stupid idea? Im new to the game

Haha that's actually a really funny way to do it xD I would recommend against such a low aspect ratio because (unless you play on a really old monitor where it is 4:3) the games aspect ratio is going to be 16:9 -> 1.7778 so the lower you go on the number the more you are squishing horizontal movement to where it stops representing your screen. and since the osu! playfield is 1:1 regardless of monitor it's not like horizontal jumps would be twice as far anyways.

@@sczer my biggest issue with the 1.7778 aspect ratio is either I can't reach horizontal circles, or I aim too far the vertical ones if i make width smaller

@@bocchiipino I mean unless you are using a 4:3 monitor - if you're still new to the game I'd say at least use 1.5 or something and just get used to it before you get weirder problems with playstyle later down the line.

Hey, for whoever is seeing this: I recently got a tablet Gaomon S620 and installed opentabletdriver. As soon as I excract the zip file I see the original one (with the photo or driver) and another two files named opentabletdriver.console and another file with a kind of "settings" image. The one with the setting image is a Virus. And it won't let me open "opentabletdriver" because apparently it identifies as a virus. Please help me or gimme tips, ty!

for some reason the driver doesnt detect the tablet :( does it have to do with the windows ink thingy? cause i used to play osu a few years ago, i had a different driver and it worked for my huion h430p, but i formated my pc months ago and this one doesnt work haha help :')

heard a few people mention stuff like that before. It could be because there is a second driver with a different area running in the background and interfering. make sure you uninstall all other tablet drivers from your pc and then restart it

Even then, random invisible borders feel like they're appearing and they dissapear if I rotate the pen really fast :( It only happens in osu but outside of it, it works perfectly fine.

I think it should work with them installed too as long as they aren't open at the same time. but if you notice anything strange then yes.

you can't.

you can, navigate to tools, click open plugin manager, look for hover distance limiter, install it, exit that and goto filters tab and goto the one you just installed, and use these settings in order top to bottom, 0, 255, unchecked, 1, 16384, unchecked, unchecked. your pen will now only activate whilst on the tablet, voilà

*note* if you have tablet mode enabled on osu!lazer it will override opentabletdriver and there will still be hover

so opening the gui and the gui can't connect to the demon or opening the demon and it can't connect to the tablet? if it's the first only thing that would really come to mind is making sure you've extracted all the files to the same location and maybe trying to run the demon on it's own. if it's the second maybe you have an unsupported tablet but that would be really surprising. Either way one of the issues could be that you still have other tablet drivers installed which could interfere with it.

if you still have the manufacturers drivers installed as well it can cause some issues. If it is not that in the software check the console tab for any errors like it not finding your tablet or something

I have a problem with it: so when I was trying to set the dimensions, I dragged the thingy on it to the bottom right corner. Now I am unable to get to the settings with my wacom to revert the chnges, and when I use a mouse, the settings for the wacom doesn't show up as i'm not using it. I need help

every single time i lift off my pen from the tablet in osu or before the map starts to get my grip ready at the center of my tablet, the cursor ends up somewhere else and im forced in awkward grip positions compared to if i dont use tablet area, is there a fix to this? Ive seen people talk about disabling windows ink but i cant find it in the drivers in the video. I have a wacom CTL-4100

Are you sure you have absolute positioning enabled? No matter how much you move it putting your pen on the same spot should always move the cursor to the same spot as well

It's not really necessary to play the game (even at a high level) so don't worry about it too much. But if you do want one last I checked the CTL 472 is still fairly cheap and it's by far the best option you can get.
