Just a little bit of clarafication for anyone learning about engines, at 20:00 just after removing the crank there was pointing out of the upper halves of the "big ends" that were part of the block. What was really pointed to was the upper halves of the "mains". The lower halves of the mains had already been removed to enable the crank removal. A "big end" is the larger hole through a conrod. It is split in half, held together by rod bolts & secures the rod to the crank. The smaller hole through the conrod is the "small end". The gudgeon or wrist pin passes through it securing the piston to the rod.

Thanks for that. Picked up my mistake in editing the video but thought it wouldn't overly affect the video so posted it up anyway. Hope you enjoyed it regardless.

Save the block. Sleeve it. Be way tougher

Yeah your right! Could get a stroker crank as well and run 88 or 89mm pistons! 2.3 or 2.4L !! thought has crossed my mind!

Scrap the block. What causes the cylinder to expand?
@RCrazyNZ25 күн бұрын
To be honest I'm not 100 percent sure. I did over boost it to 33psi which I'm sure didn't help it. The block was built years and years ago and has had 15+ years over 400hp, and had being bored to 87mm from 86mm which once again wouldn't have helped. No det marks on pistons or cylinder head so yeah.. I'm just gonna have to move on from this one I think thanks for watching all the way though appreciate that heaps.
