Those views happened to be daring to say that young children should not be put on puberty blockers and that women and girls should have personal/intimate places that are free of men! They cancelled him and several others that were due to perform too.

"Boycotting brands" is the equivalent of not buying a ticket.... It's not the same as cancellation... Boycotting brands is an expression of the will of the public/consumer at large. The cancellation of Comedians is done by a little minority committee determined to force their views and will on the public.

A consumer boycott isn't cancellation. People not buying Bud Shite or the Harry Potter video game aren't cancelling anything. If no one bought a ticket to Linehan's show he wouldn't have been cancelled. It was not being allowed to perform that was the cancellation.

Yes, those are boycotts. What happened to Graham Linehan or e.g. Tim Hunt in 2015 was cancellation, and quite a many times those kind of cancellation campaigns also usually have lack of transparency what had ACTUALLY said or done and it's left vague and only accusation is made like e.g. case of J.K Rowling who is being accused of 'harming' or 'attacking' trans people and when you go and dig out comments that caused the cancellation attempts, they are mild and perfectly reasonable for most people. E.g. Tim Hunt case was caused him telling mild self deprecating joke in a private event which one person took offence and started publicly smearing him as horrible person and damage was done before Hunt was even made aware any accusations were made against him. At that point he had already been publicly labeled as horrible sexist woman hater practically by one person (a "journalist") who had never even known Hunt.

Born and grew up in Edinburgh. Used to be a really beautiful city where the place, festival and fringe were amazing. Edinburgh of twenty years ago. A woke paradise now. Wouldn't bother going back. Not worth the money clutching councils attentions to their hatred of cars ( apart from their own expensive transport ) and neglect of the folk who actually live there all the time. A Glasgow ref to them was always "fur coat and no knickers", couldn't be more true now.
