Stay calm!! Shelf exams are not that important and are not so representative of what's on the board exam. But otherwise, Dr. Pestana's notes is great - the questions at the end are really helpful www.amazon.com/Dr-Pestanas-Surgery-Notes-Vignettes/dp/1506208541

Q47 Viral pericarditis causes marginal pericardial effusion, little to none, compared to purulent effusion. Thus, you would not get decreased heart sounds, but rather the familiar pericardial rub that is associated with pericarditis.

Q83 ceftriaxone doesn't cover pseudomonas! only one is ceftazadine (3rd gen) or the pis which are 4th gens. cefepime. Clinda does though!

@@AJmonics Correction, overall it is still staph aureus as the most common cause of osteomyelitis in sickle cell disease. Salmonella is 2nd most common, and more likely cause of osteomyelitis in sickle cell patients compared to non sickle cell

@@BotBot1178 I literally created a slide on this topic tonight: staph aureus most common cause of "STAF-OBIC" = stands for: Septic arthritis, Toxic shock, Abscess, Folliculitisi, Osteomyelitis (even in sickle cell), Blephoritis, Infective endocarditis esp. tricuspid, Cellulitis
