The first few frames I did was with a stick welder. The gentleman that taught me to weld, decades ago. He taught me very well. I can stick better than I can mig. It's taken many years of practice. I do agree with you most people shouldn't attempt to do a frame with stick. As an American, I hate bond. I think welds should be seen. I'm proud of my welds, so I'll never cover anything I do. Excellent video.

Great video 👍 as an answer to your question, Both mig and tig.. depends on what i'm doing. I prefer tig.

I do tig and mig, far more comfortable with mig because that’s what I have more hours in. But have been trying to step up my tig game now that I don’t have to worry about productivity and can spend more time on refining my craft.

I know what you mean by the tube diameter change. It seems like the later slightly larger diameter tubing could be metric sizing. Not 100% sure, just know it measures larger.
