Victoria learns to ride a bike on TV.
From series 12, 'Complete the course as slowly as possible. You must be riding the bicycle forwards within the limits of the course at all times. Every time you put a foot on the ground, the clock will be paused and your final time will be halved. If you leave the course or miss an instruction, your time will also be halved and the clock will be paused until you are back in position. Slowest wins.'

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

I think the real mission of this task had very little to do with your ACTUAL completion time. What mattered way more was how often your foot hit the ground. Minimize that as much as possible, and youd win even with a pretty quick time. For example, even if you were blazing fast and finished the entire course in only like 20 seconds, you still wouldve won by a landslide if your foot only hit the ground like once or twice. at 20 seconds and 3 mistakes, that would put your final time at 2.5 seconds. That wouldve still had you win even if you were that fast. One mistake literally HALVES your time, so minimizing that was far more important than actually being slow. Even if you could go from like 60 seconds to say, 4 minutes, that only actually nets you 2 more mistakes you could make for a monumental effort to slow down.

As much as the red bike probably looked more daunting because of size and it being a mens bike, the blue children's bike was actually harder to ride because you're more cramped, and she would have probably had an easier time if she had picked the red one Edit: also I wonder how exactly they interpreted forwards, because if it just meant you had to be moving, you could just cycle the course up and down for a bit, before completing the task. But if it actually meant forward as in in the direction of the finish line, that would be a lot harder

Frankly Taskmaster should have provided proper sized bikes, and one of them a proper women's style bike. Instead of a men's bike, and a boy's bike, the low top bar on a women's bike would have probably felt even safer as it is much easier to get on and off 😁😁

Ok, so, ride the bike slowly to the first mini task, stop then slide your feet across the ground doing everything except placing the letter in mailbox, slide all the way back to the start, slowly ride across the track, say what the letter said while riding, then place it in the box, even if you have to stop to do so this still means your time gets halved twice, even if you aren’t super slow riding I imagine 2 seconds to first task then 10 seconds for the full track would give 12 seconds only halved twice which is 3 seconds, slower than anyone else who did the task

There’s something with the math and the way this task is worded, that confuses. Surely, if the contestants time is halved every time they make a mistake, that means that if they for instance make a mistake 7 times. Their time would be (total time)/(2^7) and not 2x7, as halving it would be an exponential decrease, wouldn’t it? Of course, it doesn’t do anything with the ranking, I’m just curious lol

I know how to ace this. First of all, you need to realize that you will have to put your foot down at nearly every stop, so instead of panicking, just ride as slowly as you can, speeding up a bit if you think you can grab something without stopping, then immediately slowing down. And when you do stop, make sure to plant your foot and keep it there. The timer will have stopped, but that's fine, cause otherwise you risk putting your foot down multiple times at each stop. I was really hoping someone would have figured this out.

How? They have full pads and helmets, if you quickly fall off a bike you smash your head on the cement, the helmet stops you, if you slowly fall off a bike you save yourself with your hands and the gloves stops that. Biggest risk was a scraped finger.

If anyone here has ever riden a motorcycle, the trick to riding very slow is to keep constant pressure on the rear brake. The gryroscopic force is the same as when riding at speed and balance is preserved.

No I can't believe it, tough to believe she learnt to bike in minutes. It took me 3 days and it wasn't easy and I also saw some people took upto a month to acquire the skill. Some had bad falls & minor accidents too. She probably learnt how to ride in her childhood then forgot about it, if not & she really learnt it on the spot, her name should be on Guinness book for learning it so quickly.

@@Harvey1211 All the information is on the task. You could argue that doesn't mean you can't go backwards in the course. To ride a bike in a circle, you must be riding forwards at all times.

@@C.I... I suppose you’re right. The rules were quite loose considering Alan circled the mannequin holding that piece of paper and he wasn’t pulled up on it. I guess that means the rules could be interpreted as ‘you must be making progress with the task at all times’ i.e. you can’t just get to the end and go back to the start again.
