Fantastic job there fellas and fellette. It would look superb if you wrapped the bumper and maybe got wheel nut rings for the front wheels and wrapped them too. Really enjoy what you’re doing Tom.

Loved watching these rebuild vids, it looks great, love the colour changing wrap depending on which way you look. Your logo is simple, but very effective and catches the eye! We need more vids now on everything your yard does and how etc, and hopefully more / different rebuilds. Also i hope your wife slapped you for that dodgy bit of wrapping after all her hard work! 😂😂😂

I went along with my dad in his skip wagons, this was about 40 years ago, the company he worked for were leyland, some were the older buffalo with the engine bump in the can which were bad if someone else came along with us so my seat was the engine bump, all the rest were Clydesdales, most of those lorries came from Charrington coal truck, I drove my first at 12 and drove up until I was 17 off road road of course, I drove all the fleet trucks from first skip trucks, Then 8 wheeler hook loaders, then 8 wheeler tippers the artic tippers. Back then they used a lot of older skip beds from older trucks which were repaired by the yards fitters to a very strong condition. Once the company grew they bought brand new Volvo fl6 I think with new macllift bodies, they bought 6 out right at first and even though I was young, the management had now bother me driving them as I had driven all the older trucks being taught by one of the companies brothers, the company was McGrath Bros which is still going strong today, in the past they had a small yard in Hackney/Bow then they bought more land expanding the site and they bought some bigger land at ripple road just off a13 in east London, this was for the river which they know ship most of the landfill out on barges. They have grown from a company owning a old dodge skip truck and a jcb and a couple of excavators to a company which I believe own millions pounds of land with a very huge recycling plant and they could possibly own around 30 trucks. Even when I see the trucks now I hope to see my dad driving by but sadly he passed over 12 years ago. Good luck with the new tipper and hopefully I see the skip truck build soon. One other thing to mention, the skip beds are way more complicated than back in the early days where they had wheeled jacks, hydraulic tipping hooks and a 1 framed lifting boom, very very different from now days. Good luck with your future 👍🚛

All of them dafs you got would have Paccar engines in them + when describing the axle setup it's always mentioned as 8×4 not 4×8. The 8 stands for "hub stations" and 4 would be the amount of them that drive. Hope that's helpful 😉
@GeoffStevens-s6t2 ай бұрын
4 is the amount that drive, not steer!
@Ryanboii0042 ай бұрын
@GeoffStevens-s6t yes sorry I stand corrected the correct way to describe that axle configuration would be 8x4x4 8-Hub stations 4-drive 4-steer It does slip my mind every now and again 😅😅 don't tend to have to describe the axle configurations too much in the trade not unless Fleetwheel or another motor factors got it wrong on their system
Light bar on the roof with orange flashing lights on the and 4 lights in between them

@WhatAWasteLtd ah that’s good to know … As we all know it’s not so much the pounds spent buying a truck it’s keeping it on the road … Hardly a day goes by without a nice message in that screen on the FMX …
