This is from a call the other day. I returned to rewire furnace, and remove the board. #hvac #hvaclife #hvacguy #hvacboss #fieldpiece #makita #hvactech #hvactechnician

That repair is amazing. It takes knowledge, talent and experience. Very well done.

To guys who do this everyday it may not seem to amazing, but to guys like me in another tech profession but never work on this type of thing I find this ingenius. I never realized a system that has a control board could be setup to run without it. It probably makes it much more reliable after doing this.

It's nice to see some of us can still re-wire equipment. These control boards are taking over way to much. (Yes, they do a certain job).

As a Student I honestly appreciate these videos man! I’m trying to be the best one day so I’m just studying and studying and studying and studying on top of my school. I’m finding out you have to mix both into one as far as hands on and research.

So cool! Subscripted not too long ago and been watching a lot of your videos, your way of diagnosis and troubleshooting is on point. As an electrician I always trying to improve my skills and have picked up a few things for your videos, keep it up 👍

Years ago a brand used ac current on relays for electric heat . Customer didn't like the constant noise for relays buzzing. Got permission from factory to rewire. Used honeywell sequencer new wire no more problems. Always hated the type sequencers yo used . On new units failure were several in short time. Good luck with yours. Have a great day .

Just wondering did you replace that crust Cap. ? And I know the board was bad due to the loose contact strip . Could have you just soldered the contact strip back on ?
@thelazyfishkeeper27302 жыл бұрын
so we went from state of art tech kinda, to old school reliable tech. and this was cheaper than replacing the board?? or the board was unavailable. stay well

You did a great workaround and clearly have mastered the HVAC trade. I don’t recall why you didn’t replace the control board and save the labor time.Seems like it may have been a cheaper and easier way to proceed. Great job in any case.

Supply chain issues are wreaking havoc on this trade. If you can reuse something it will save a substantial amount of time and money right now, because it may be a while for a part and prices gave gone through the roof. Just refrigerant has gone up something like 60%-80% depending on where you are.

Job came out okay , just wondering if you carry spare name plates for the equipment since you’ve re-engineered that air handler it’s now yours ! ?
@ranimouf Жыл бұрын
I agree. I hate control boards. I was unlucky purchasing 9 air handlers for my complex andI have been spending a lot of money replacing them. They keep failing all the time. I think I m gonna have them replaced with 9340 relays.

Basically, using the relay in reverse to make a lockout of using the high and low speeds at the same time. HVAC school also has a clip about this too but nice work.

Smthn not to show- rigging things up. We can fire em all thru relays. Upon the time... Judge asked contractor a question - when did you get engineer degree? Lawsuit was against burnt down 2 stories apartment. Lost. True story in FL. Edit: yes, we got great skills... We starve to share it... Tho - there a thin line :(

Where does the yellow, orange and white wire from the thermostate hook up.

This is how simple things used to be, then expensive boards came along.
@UberArchangel2 жыл бұрын
Modern controller boards are just costly things that break all the time and ramp up the fan. This could easily be done with capacitors and resistors as a small board. Unless you have a Mercedes of hvac systems they are not needed but, force you to buy new because most people can't rewire it.
@davidcruickshank24192 жыл бұрын
Quick question, do you go through your supplier or directly through Honeywell to get your logo printed on the thermostats
@joshuameadows55742 жыл бұрын
Love your videos . Just a quick question why do you refer to the wire being broke by the sequencer as common. Ive always been taught that the speed tap on a blower is run .
@allanbrito132 жыл бұрын
I don't think it matters cuz what I'm getting from it is choose a name for each side of wires to avoid a direct short
@joshuameadows55742 жыл бұрын
@@allanbrito13 I was wrong because the same wire that feeds start also feeds run. And in this situation it would leave the speed tap as common.

Referring to one of the 240 volt legs as "common" kept me doing a double take. Maybe "L2" would be a better name. Good video that makes me ask: Why do manufacturers have to complicate simple systems with circuit boards?
@MrTrailerman22 жыл бұрын
Supposedly for efficiency. But the money saved gets flushed after the first labor repair . I tell my customers to buy the lowest efficiency equipment because they will never see a return on investment.

You have effectively lost the UL rating for the unit. I would also say , the liability if it ever causes a fire. Insurance company would have trouble with it also I am sure.
