Your anxious because of false expectations you put on yourself regarding the upcoming performance. If you have satisfaction in the hard work you put in prior to the event then there shouldn't be an expectation of the result. You learn from the result and implement it into the following training to get better. Satisfaction in your hard work is a gift to you by God. You praise him whether the result or competition in in your favor or not. If you don't believe in God then you should praise him for his mercy for giving you another day to breathe so you can use that breath to repent and believe in him.
