Can't thank you enough for all these episodes, you are one of the reasons i started my own car cinematic channel and learnt alot about shooting, now my pet peeve is seeing my reflection. Also have always been curious to see what I would be able to footage shot by a pro, or just done by someone else so I'm eager just to be able to edit this. :). All the way from Jamaica

If you shoot wide open, do you always have to keep in mind your distance from the car since the dof is so shallow ? You would have to be a decent distance away so that most of the car is in focus, right ? Also… do you generally try to keep the whole car in focus or just the front or just one section ?

There's got to be a better way to capture audio, the exhaust audio always sounds so muffled and tinny, probably because the mic is mounted before the exhaust opening rather than after it and no doppler effect is added when mixed with external shots.
@spamsubie2 жыл бұрын
Another method is to rig a shotgun mic with a deadcat pointed towards the exhaust. You can also get a better lav mic for better results as my personal lav mic that I used in this video is more for capturing voices so the audio isn't the best imo
