That turned out great 👍. I think some pictures suit paint by numbers better than others and Van Gogh's style is one of the better ones. I'm just about to start my first one so I've been strolling around KZbin for inspiration. Thanks for providing some 🙂

I like that you sectioned it off. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment. It can be so finite. I will do mine if Greece with washi tape. Thanks for the great idea.

You did a lovely job with this painting. I also did not know to use washi tape for sectioning off each portion as I thought the washi tape might make the numbers underneath the tape come off but it seems to be just great. Thank you so much for this!

The printed paper is a reference sheet of the painting..it replicates the numbers of the canvas .so if u have put one layer on the canvas and dont know which one goes where for the second coat...then u can consult the ref sheet😊

When you say 4 days it doesn't really tell me much. I would like to know how many hours approximately? How many hours per day did you work on it? My daughter bought me a couple of paint by numbers for Christmas. I haven't painted one for quite a few years but I am excited to get started. I know you do have to do several coats of light or bright colors sometimes when doing paint by number. I thought it was funny how your cat kept walking/sitting/laying on the project. The same happens to me. I like your masking tape idea too. I might try it.

Usually takes 22-24 hours depending on how complicated the painting is😊

Where did you order this? Also was your painting area smooth or did it have a canvas texture?

So I actually bought it at Michaels 🎨 and it was canvas texture 🙂 I’m wondering if I had to use something over it before I painted 🤔

@EritsStudio I know people use clear gesso first, but it's supposed to prime the canvas before painting. It's supposed to add "tooth"/texture to it, but I just got my first paint by numbers, and my canvas is smooth on the painting side. I was just curious if different companies use different types of texture

@EritsStudio it's a canvas but looks like they printed the paint by numbers on something and stuck it to the canvas 🤷🏼‍♀️. It looks like all the videos I've seen have a canvas texture on the painting side. Maybe that's why people use clear gesso... to give it texture. I'm see how it goes once I start the painting and lyk

I pick more dark paintings , like landscapes and animals because the paints are darker and are easier to blend .

Your paint looks kinda thick. I would recommend using flow aid to thin them out a little and they'll paint smoother and won't change the color of the paint. A little goes a long way!

Haha yes I was painting pretty thick on the canvas 😅 and that’s super cool I never even heard of flow aid I’ll have to check it out for my next paint by number 😁 Thank you for the advice! ✨💖✨

@EritsStudio it' really affordable and a little will last you a long time. I bought the brand liquitex on Amazon for around $10 (4oz). That's what was recommended by another paint by numbers enthusiast. The directions say to dilute it but I watch Melanie B's creative studio channel and she doesn't for the most part. There are a lot of tips and tricks on her channel.
