The Curse of Greed is a special, work-in-progress, challenge run in Noita accessed inside the large tree at spawn. In this let's play video, I complete an entire gameplay run with the Curse of Greed active, commentating on perk tiers and tips, before showing another secret pertaining to it. Enjoy!

I'd love to see a 1.0 "everything" run where you start with a brand new save and try to get all the tiles you can in a run. And then complete the ones that require individual runs after.

Being able to stop the curse in the Holy Mountains is amazing, I always thought the running was never worth it for my noob ass but I can do two levels and then stop at the frozen caverns. I should try that

Just keep in mind that in the *current* beta (if you are using the beta branch of the game on Steam) you break the crystals to KEEP the curse - though that is being reverted back to the way in this video in the next beta patch, since it caused issues apparently.

i love watching all this stuff and i even saw your recent guides but i would love a "you are a total new to noita" guide explaining everything. like you talked about a shuffle wand and non shuffle but i have no idea wtf that means. still i love to watch your content and all these cool secrets (and im not trying to criticize in any way)!

Basically, a non-shuffle wand will cast each spell in order from left to right. For example if you had a non-shuffling wand with sparkbolt, sparkbolt, bouncing burst, it would cast them in that exact order. 2 sparkbolts, 1 bouncing burst, then it would recharge and repeat. If that wand was a shuffler, it would cast them in a random order. Potentially you could end up casting sparkbolt, bouncing burst, sparkbolt. Then it would recharge, and pick another random order to cast those spells in. On wands like that, it usually doesn't matter if they're shuffling or not, but if you had a wand that had a sparkbolt with trigger then explosion, if it was a non-shuffler, it would cast the sparkbolt w trigger which would then cast explosion, and you'd be safe. If that wand was a shuffler, there's a chance it would cast explosion first and you would get hit.

Half of day with this curse (with immortality),hate this. After being released, he was engaged in cleaning the territory like at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The green crystal appeared only on an unvisited shrine (level 5)

That was with the Telekinetic Kick perk! It replaces your normal kick with telekinesis, allowing you to grab and throw lots of items and materials.

Hey, Fury. I think I heard that the Greed curse is now used with the Avarice chamber in the Tower to make the Divide by Ten spell spawn instead of The Salt. I'm not totally sure but it might be worth a look.

I think they removed the one-hit kill from being frozen and tentacled by the squid momma. It was in one of the first 1.0 patches.

They changed it a little bit, but it's still possible to 1-hit kill things and be 1-hit killed. Though, most often, it's 2+ hits now. You can be frozen and 1 melee attack will "crack" you and then the follow-up melee will kill you. So it's not quite as deadly most of the time (as a recipient or a dealer) but it can still get you killed.

I tried the challenge today to get the Divide by 10 - with success - but since I visited every mountain before getting the curse I couldn't end the curse and the run went sideways. Is there any way to end the curse, when every mountain was already loaded in (so no green crystals are present)?

As I told someone else, if you're advanced in a run far enough to be doing this (bringing the greed crystal to the mountain altar) then the very small amount of gold dropped by the meteors is definitely NOT the reason why you're doing it. It's pennies compared to the effort it takes to do this. You could literally get more gold from a chest. The completion tile is by far the most valuable reason to do it.

Hmm, I thought it was already in the release branch of the game, but I guess it's just in the beta branch. If you're playing on Steam, then you can access the beta branch by right-clicking Noita, going to properties, then to the "betas" tab and then choose the beta branch in the drop-down list. It has all the latest content as soon as they add it.

Ok so I checked and what actually happened is it was dark, I couldn’t see it, and thought it wasn’t there. As it turns out, it was there. I grabbed it, and as soon as I went into the mines, there was Midas everywhere. It was actually really disappointing.

Why do you throw away wands? Is there some hidden advantage to holding less wands???? I can't think of any reason to throw a wand away other than replacing it.

Because I knew I didn't need it. I can't go into depth in a short time, but I've done over 13,000 runs and speedrun this game on a daily basis, so I just *know* if I'm going to be using a wand or not. I typically like to toss wands in Holy Mountains and go into the next area with a free spot so that I don't have to waste time in the wand select screen when potentially picking up a wand in that next area.

i did this while having 3 mods installed, but for some reason it was not showing up in the tree-chievements area. edit.: nevermind i thought the pillar has achievements engraved and colors them out when achieved, nvm, its just an engravement :D

If you’re able to do this then that paltry amount of gold really is nothing. It’s not much more gold than can be obtained in one spot inside a chest, and you’re liable to miss the majority of it as the curse continues to spread, making the area around the mountain more and more deadly.

Sure, the gold nuggets do exist, it does drop them, but if you’re doing this then you’re definitely not doing it for the gold, but instead for the completion pillar segment. That was my point.

Hahaha, this is laughable. None of this is obvious. The game is cryptic in the extreme. In order to avoid spoilers and the like, until I finish a game, I try to avoid all guides, reviews, playthroughs, even just discussion. I allow myself only the barest of official trailers. It took me 400 hours to win and I suspect that was only because one video or image I saw (perhaps 200 hours in) featured relatively heavily the black hole spell or similar, cluing me into the value of just blasting down through some sections. Without having witnessed that, I do not like to think how long it would have taken me.

Well, the amount of gold you get from it is **extremely** negligible compared to the effort of getting it up there. You can get that amount of gold in 5 minutes in the Mines.
