@Sharon Stuebi and this old man is brighter, as he always is, for seeing a vlog from these earth angels. When Melissa was speaking, at the end, about Eli always searching for her hand, holding it when he was small, I was taken back some 70 years, to see a snapshot of me and my beautiful Mummy - I'm in England, that's how we spell the most beautiful name in the world - walking every place we went, she and I holding hands ALWAYS. I was always SO SO proud/happy to be with this beautiful lady or with my handsome Dad. I knew I'd won the first prize with them. I went to a state school and didn’t think anything about how I looked. (My mum always sent me to school washed, teeth brushed, hair combed, clean clothes and shiny shoes). It was still a time of relative austerity. Great Britain had spent all its war chest, and more besides, fighting the Nazi regime and the Country was broke so kids at school, from state housing, generally, were poorly clothed. And, when asked where I lived, and I answered, the kids would make a joke about my being snobby or rich or living in a posh house. That was probably the start of my being called names and made fun of because of my parents' choice of home. It was lovely. Built alongside a very rural lane, which wasn't even a proper road, when my parents moved into their first home as newlyweds, in 1936, it cost them £366. At the back of the house was a farmer's field, with lots of milking cows. I loved watching them, slowly making their way from one sweet clump of grass to another. They seemed untroubled by anything. That's how I wanted to be, untroubled. Life ain't like that though, is it? But I still had total trust in my parents because they were my world. And I'm certain that your children still look to you as their world, Melissa and, darn it, I can't remember your handsome husband's name, just now, even though Neveah is 16 and starting her own journey soon in this world. I think of the way you are training your kids in the Ways of the Lord, just as my parents did with me and my older three brothers before me. We decide for ourselves, though, who we want to follow, don't we? I'm glad I chose to trust in God all those years ago. 61 years, if memory serves me right. Why have I said all this? Well, I hope and pray that your kids, Melissa, will trust in God for themselves, will find a way, The Way, to Him. And I hope, also, that other Mums and Dad's, who do their best to show their families the Ways of God, will be encouraged to continue, when the world may be telling them, "This God thing is all a waste of time. They'll never trust Him for themselves. Drop it and live for today". Please be encouraged that your prayers, for your children, have amazingly long lives and God honours those prayers, IN HIS TIME. Do not be dismayed! God's bigger than man and He makes a Way in the Wilderness. God bless you and yours. xx.

My mother AND her twin brother will turn 95 this February 23rd. There is a lot of valuable information in our older generations. One of the things we did with my Grandparents was to sit down and record an interview with them. Asking them questions about their childhood, the things they did as children, their trip to America from Europe. First reactions of the US, how they earned an income, etc. I recommend this if Grandma is up to it. You'll cherish it forever. Happy Birthday Eii!

I’m in my mid 50s and thoroughly enjoy the “do it myself” mentality. That said, I’m tired of doing some things nowadays. I wanted to build our house, but my wife and I agreed that it was too much for me to do. I’m flabbergasted with your place. Like you, we homeschooled our children. It is such a blessing to see them prosper and want challenges. Music, math, reading, etc. I see so many similarities with our families. We are just farther down the path. Hello guys I grew up everywhere Bc I raise around military life as a child so from Kansas City to Colorado Springs to Hicksville Kansas , Alaska outside Anchorage off base. Born in Southern California Fontana is my birth place . I did live in Washington state my daughter was born in yakima Washington/ my youngest Aberdeen Washington your right it rains a lot . Gosh... the song that was playing during the Seattle touring of the museums, and Melissa - your incredible way of reaching into our hearts, and literally voicing the grandeur and majesty of what a privilege it is to be a mother had me unashamedly letting tears just run down my cheeks.. My babies are 28 and 25 respectively and two grandbabies are 21 months, and 4 and Gods.. it's so so wonderful to get a second chance at immersing in the unadulterated love and joy a little one brings to life with these babies of the next generation. You and Jeremy are doing such a wonderful thing, by giving your kids not only a safe secure home, built with extraordinary love, but, life skills, parents love and attention, and the gift of yourselves every day you're making memories that will cement their ability to love, nurture, and raise their own families one day. Eli you are such a big boy now! I remember that when I met your mother you were just a little guy toddling around. You were 1 year old the first time I saw a picture of you. It has been an absolute pleasure watching you grow into a wonderful and loving big boy! Happy Birthday, buddy!

98 year old Grandma says to Eli; "I was 90 years old when you were born, isn't that old?" I think Eli was afraid of hurting her feelings bcuz he quietly said " yeah". And when she laughed you could see he was relieved. I'm glad he had a wonderful time at all the 🦕 dinosaur and space/airplane museums. But his real excitement was getting the trampoline. The last clip of young Eli singing brought a huge smile and a tiny 😢 tear to my eye remembering way back when my youngest son was that little and the joy he had brought to our family the day he was born. Happy Birthday Eli!

Your visit with your Grandma was wonderful, She is beautiful and still playing the piano, how wonderful. Eli you are such a sweetheart, so fun watching his eyes light up around those planes and then his trampoline gift. My Grandson now 12 loves the flight museum in Seattle they also have a smaller one in Everett by the Boeing plant. The Boeing Plant in Everett is a great place to tour also. The shower looks great, I love the tile you picked. Happiest Birthday to your sweet little guy!
