I finished all 12 exams for my OWLs. It was the one thing I could manage to focus on while on lockdown. I'm so grateful to have this readathon right now. They really helped me when I had bad days of my own. Thank you for hosting it and for giving us something to get our mind off of things. I'm very grateful and wish I could give you a hug right now.

Definitely feel you, being overseas from your family in a time like now. I have those days where it hits me so hard, the thought that I can't even visit them (and I have all the time in the world now that I have no work!). Definitely craving the comfort of family and home right now :) Just have to remind ourselves it's only temporary!

I ended up reading 25 books in April so I finished my Alchemist OWLS, and did the animagus training and the merpeople linguistics! It was so fun! I've never done a readathon before, I loved it! Cant wait for NEWTS!

I totally agree. I don't think the redemption arc Rowling creates for Snape justifies his actions. There is a great podcast called The Quibbler. Its a husband and wife pair who dissect the whole series chapter by chapter and they agree - Snape is not a good person. I highly recommend giving it a listen! Also, hoping the migraines and muggles aren't getting you down so far this week.

Merphy over on Merphy Napier's channel also did a really good deep dive into Snape. She wrote down every scene with Snape in it and gives a chronological history of his life and then analyzes his character. Her analysis is so on point. Highly recommend that video.

I think my favorite item from this box was the tumbler, but I liked all of the items for sure. I got two beautiful editions of the book from Owlcrate as well as Fairyloot!

I completed my O.W.L.s also. I decided to go for two careers, which are Healer and Spell Maker. I read 7 books plus 4 extra books. I did the Dragon Tamer Training, which required a third career as a Magizoologist. I also did Merpeople Linguistics. That added 2 extra books. I read 14 books.

I had a slight mental breakdown this past week. I struggle with bipolar and anxiety and the bipolars been managed decently for some time but for the first time in quite some time I was super depressed and the normal things I do to cope (go to a movie, go to a bookstore, go to the used bookstore) weren't available so it was just getting worse. Anyway, on Wednesday I took time off work and did nothing but read Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It helped in some ways and Saturday my husband and I went for a drive. We weren't able to get out of the car due to everything but we were able to get out. Migraines run in my family. My dad, aunt and brother get them awful. I get them too but since my stress level decreased July of last year the migraines got better that being said, through all this they have gotten worse! I have them to some degree daily. They tend to just be more minor/manageable. I've been lucky not to get the ones where I am stuck in bed all day long. Anyway, thanks for posting the vlog. KZbin has been keeping me sane while I work from home. Your Vlogs are ones I look forward too. :)

fun fact: it's possible to have cake mixes to which you don't have to add anything but water, but people weren't buying it because it felt like they weren't doing enough, so now the perfect cake mix always has 2-4 things to add so it's not too simple but also not mixing too many things lol

Totally get the being away from family is rough at the moment. My husband has the same... his mother is alone and unable to pay rent, his younger brother was in hospital for 2 weeks, his older brother lives in his car/at the office for weeks now. It’s really tough them all being so far away now.

This was such a great box. The Chain of Gold box, however, was such a huge disappointment to my daughter. The book cover was foiled, but on a cheap book cover material meant to be covered by a book jacket, and the design was very generic looking. I can’t believe they didn’t do a faux leather or anything for a book that doesn’t have a jacket. Just a thought, but when FairyLoot does a naked book, it would still be nice to have the book jacket, especially if they aren’t going to do a nicer book cover material.

I was prescribed Epital for my headaches. I use to get several a week now I get maybe one a month. You should talk to your MD about it. Also botox has helped a lot of ppl with migraines too.

I think the reason I volunteered to do your captions is to give me an excuse to take time out and watch all these videos I missed out on. And doing this has shown me just hoooooow long it's been since I kept up with booktube. Because eep. Snape. is. the. worst. And at least 2/3 of the reason I hated Cursed Child so much is because it glorified Snape and justified his behavior and made him a hero and I CANNOT. But like, book 4 gets even worse. Because that's when Hermione gets accidentally jinxed and her teeth grow so long, down her chin, and Snape says, "I see no difference" and WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, ADULT MAN. None of his Always, Step Over Your Husband's Corpse to Hold Your Dead Body bullspit justifies him treating Hermione or Neville that way. HATE. I could talk about this for days. Oh, oh, oh, I get my first "mrowr" and I am really happy. :-D That brownie mix looks....so damn good. Now wondering if I have any in my kitchen. Random brownie fact: December 8th is National Brownie Day.
