why Irms conjugate and not the Irms it self ?

Update: I have found only this note on the WINLABS, Rutgers "Powers": "For sources, only way to calculate Complex power S is by V I∗ One cannot do any other way." Where I* means Irms conjugated. Still doesn't explain why it conjugates, but i guess it's always happening...

because in the law p avg = I rms * V rms * cos(@v-@I) so we need conjagute of phasor I rms as to change the angle to negative to follow the law and replace them so if you don't put conjugate that will happen as phasor I rms * phasor V rms = I rms * Vrms cos(@v+@i) +i I rms * Vrms sin(@v+@)

Hi Sir, I've seen all your videos about AC power. I found something hard here, can you guide me, please? So here my teacher gave me a problem, where 2 loads are placed in one place. It is 20kVA 0.8lag and 25kVA 0.9lag. Both of them have 2400Vrms. There is also line impedance 0.5+j2 on both sides. I want to know, how is that possible for a series circuit to have different Amps? Look at 20kVA has 8.3A while 25kVA has 10A. Have I misunderstood the question?

shouldnt it be S+jQ as the eqn of Pav = 0.5*Irms^2*R??
