My father went undiagnosed for over 15 years, but a few years ago they finally diagnosed him with CRPS. Last month they gave him KETAMINE for the first time and he started to feel better... Unfortunately, my father couldn't take the pain anymore. I buried my father a few days ago and I wish I could go back in time. To all those suffering from CRPS, please try EVERYTHING you can. We BELIEVE your pain. Don't lose hope. We love you!!

@@planewalker_JI’d reccomend looking into Spero clinic. It’s expensive (because insurance typically doesn’t cover it), but my friend with CRPS went there. Spero does many rehabilitation techniques, as well as stimulation. It’s more holistic, and I think that you need a good balance between holistic/traditional medicine. However, pharma and rare diseases is definetely a struggle (because of the cost of extensive research, they don’t openly benefit as much from it). One thing that’s incredible, is that they never gave up on her, even when she was there for nearly half a year. Before she left, she couldn’t walk without extreme pain. When she returned, she had little to no pain and returned DANCING! Though when dancing she did have pain again, she is in much better condition than when she left. And now she’s in remission. This is technically “physical therapy.” Though many companies will be skeptical of it, if you look at the patient success rate, it’s truly incredible. I’m also aware they say it’s incurable, but there’s nothing to lose. If you are able to afford it, I highly reccomend. Being able to watch her thrive is one of the best things. She also plans to go into the medical field for radiologic studies, because if her radiologist would have openly identified the CRPS in her foot, she may have been diagnosed earlier and prevented the extensive amount of pain. It was visible in her original imaging, but never spoken upon. Regardless, I truly wish you the best with your journey and I pray for you and your journey with CRPS. Because surviving truly is one of the strongest things I can imagine. You are so strong and you are not alone!

Lo Tion I was diagnosed by several doctors,neurologist and pain doctors and I can say that it’s indescribably tricky. I found some great Doctors and some terrible ones the thing is that the longer I have had it the more I believe it is transmitted or directed by the brain through the blood and the skin and maybe threw bones themselves. It’s Managed by some sort of misinformation. I am a believer in mindfulness in the truth of neurological issues that are not of myself. A good pharmacist,Doctor and a even better self awareness is all that keeps us Living. (Well at least alive) If you are looking this up you might need to see a second third or fourth opinion. Much hope and Strength. The just one more.

I've been to so many "psychosocial" therapists and I have to say, I've never felt less helped by anyone. Instead of trying to relieve my pain, they wanted to talk about how it was never EVER going to get better and how I had to live with that. Getting better is what keeps me going Day to day. Somehow a therapist taking that away seems like a bad idea. I hate the biopsychosocial approach. Fix my pain and my psychosocial problems disappear.

Bio-psycho-social is nonsense. It's a cop out because we have no effective drugs to treat chronic pain or nerve injury. In the future, when we actually understand pain - and this may be fifty or so years away at this point - we'll look back at the psycho-social approach as we now look at leeching. Yes - there is a logic to it - does it address the real problem - not at all. Does it make it worse - probably.

Almost 30 years ago I broke my left wrist. I developed, what they called at the time, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. My wrist and had became very swollen, were grey in color and extremely painful. When the doctor removed the cast, I passed out from the pain. He sent me directly to the pain clinic. There they injected me with a nerve blocker. After several injections my pain subsided. I went to therapy for 12 months to restore the range of motion in my wrist. I has not bothered me since. I sympathize with those who have endured this condition for years. Recently, I somehow developed compartment syndrome in my left calf. I had to have an emergency four compartment faciotomy during which they made two long incisions in my calf to relieve the pressure. I was in extreme pain for several weeks. I am now, after weeks of wound care, am on the mend. I am wondering if the two conditions are related. Thank you for the excellent video.

I suggest suffers look towards studies by Moseley and Butler into graded motor imagery and mirror therapy. The evidence suggests that these techniques do reduce pain and can help to resolve other symptoms by correcting limb representation in the homunculus cortex. Explain Pain and Managing your pain are two texts that can be very helpful in understanding why chronic pain syndromes occur and provide strategies that aim to return normal function.

Mirror therapy and intensive physical therapy helped me greatly. I developed CRPS in my left hand after an ulnar fracture post fall from my bicycle. I had to search for a therapist familiar with CRPS and appropriate treatment modalities, Worth the effort. After a 5 month absence, I was able to return to work. It took me 2 years of thinking I was losing my mind to be Dx. I was a nurse and had a severe knee injury. The orthopedic doctor said my knee would never be the same but it would be much better than it was at the time. As the strange swelling appeared and what felt like millions of fire ants attacking me I realized it definitely wasn’t in my head and begged for answers no one could give me. Finally I meet a neurologist that knew in an instant what was happening to me and my journey with a diagnosis began 8 years ago. We think I actually had it 10 years ago. Soon after diagnosis I had a severe bout of kidney stones followed by emergency surgery and it went from my legs throughout my body. Thank God I don’t have any organ involved that we know of. This isn’t just a burning skin issue like some might think. I had what felt like crushing pain in my legs and then like someone lit me on fire at the same time. I truly dreamed of how I could amputate my own legs and stay alive to be taken to the hospital. I swallowed handfuls of pills just needing the pain to stop. I couldn’t think or move most of the time. I ended up quickly getting a pain pump and I get 3 drugs through it 24/7, Bupivacaine, dilaudid and Prialt. Though it has helped my life is nothing like it was. I have lost so much mobility and gained so much weight and it just keeps declining. With my Dr’s permission I started experimenting with thc (it’s legal both medicinally and now recreationally in my state. I found low dose thc gummies actually help me. It doesn’t take the pain away but it alters it in a way I can better handle it. I got of my Neurontin, valuim and Norco going this route. But, I’m still on a decline and we are now looking into a stimulater as my joints and back become worse and more painful. I can stand for only very short moments and rely on my wheeled Walker and electric wheelchair to get around. I have also become very sensitive to certain noises, loudness and pitches of some voices. A baby crying makes me want to rip my ears off!!!! When 3 or more of our adult children get together they try to over talk each other and I seriously have to leave the room. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband that has stood by my side through thick and thin and I seriously couldn’t have made it this far without him!!!!! God Bless all our warriors 💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

Someone said I have this after telling them my pain issues. I’m not sure this is what I have. At times I feel more soon than I should abs to the extreme. A raindrop landing softly on my nose initially does not hurt but then within seconds and minutes the pain escalates to a full blown migraine and even with nausea and vomiting. Once my mum lightly touched the small of my back to get my attention. I instantly fell to the mall floor and for the next 4 months had extreme back pain. Once mum walking past me and to top of her sandals very gently touched my left big toe. Initially all good then bam, extreme pain for several years as my toe went through many changes and ended in my toenail coming off. Leading up to that my toe had a big bump in it. It felt line someone was drilling into the center of my toenail. Sometimes it felt like my toe was in a vice also. Sometimes I accidentally touch the hot glass oven when getting food out. Even though the contact was less than a second so normally no pain or damage, my skin blisters up as if the contact was 10-15 seconds. Once my sister was using a hair iron straightener on my hair. She gently hit me with it on my head. Yeah she’s a brat haha. Oh the pain escalated alright. It felt like there was an axe in my head and my head split wide open and deep. After I have a blood test it feels like the syringe is still on my arm and air being blown into my arm. Such an odd sensation. Those are a few examples of many. I always thought it was my body warning me against people who hurt me and are toxic to me.
@thedumbprogrammer123 Жыл бұрын
Could brain surgery work where you intentionally cut out the pain center of the brain. I'm sure it's a complex procedure but might be worth it if one is suicidal. You will feel no pain after that... That has its own set of limitations but they pale in comparison to the initial disease. God luck.

I have delt with this hell pain for ONLY the longest week in my life, all new to me. It's down my left arm, in my elbow and forearm. It's from an old nerve injury 25 years ago whereas my arm was pinned under the beam of a trailer house that fell across my chest , nearly crushing me in half. I feel like my arm is being twisted and ripped from my body. I feel like I'm in a nightmare. I have gotten very little sleep and when I do it's very short interrupted by a painful awakings. My ER visit 6 days ago did not know what was wrong but thankfully got me a bottle of weak pain pills that seems to help numb the pain briefly but is wearing off quicker each day. Im down to just a few pills and it's Christmas Eve. I'm sad, scared and tired both mentally and physically. Only the last 2 days have I realized what I may be dealing with. I've lost some simple movements in my arm at the elbow and thumb to finger movement. I tried playing my guitar with no power to do so. I'm reaching out to anything to help but see there is very little cures or successful treatments. I hope that nobody I know ever has to experience this.

sorry for your pain and abandonment. Seems like this is a good place to meet other Diana's. I have had pain since I was 18, then more after childbirth in 1990, 93. But the post op pain med showed me that opiates could manage my pain more than any other meds. I do also take 3600 mg Gabapentin/day and 16 to 20 mg per Day of Tizanidine. These are crucial to have, to mitigate this pain. I fainted, gently hit the concrete and my legs hyper-extended. 💥 Crack! Went my tibia, fibula. After the surgery, I'd been home about 2 months and certain times of the year I noticed that my apartment got really warm, (I think because of my neighbors around have cozy heaters going)who are insulating and the outside Temp was very cold. Those warm days have set off Dysautonomia, or POTS. All of those factors plus I already was diagnosed with EDS, SFN, PM, OA, DDD, FM, just a couple weeks after the fracture surgery I started to develop CRPS. But not One of the 15 doctors who have seen me in the past year, have recognized the symptoms of CRPS, in me! I'm always the one who figures out What I have, and right after, too late to Nip it in the early stages, so do a few docs. But usually it's just me. I mistook it for Peripheral Neuropathy' and my Neurologist backed away from my cAse as if I had leprosy. He did an EMG that was inconclusive but he also only screened me for SJOGREN's and lupus! I think he knew it was bad and he just didn't want to be involved. Is that a case for Malpractice? I lost over a year of potential treatment and the Peripheral Neuropathy went thru first my right, then left foot. Then, exactly a year later, It started in my hands and had been raging for a year. My hands are ruined! I was a very good artist, a great Mother, wife, (he left me because he wanted someone more "Active", but she quit being fun after their baby came! He's 13 now, and he's 64.) and I was not able to find another partner to take his place. I still look ok, I just have all these conditions plus way too much skin. prayers for All of you guys.x💕

After a year She had to have her little toe amputated on the affected foot due to the deformity from the severe neuropathy, she was almost unable to walk or wear a shoe. The pain just moved higher up the foot from the surgical site. Avoid surgery at all costs.

Ann Lynn Very good article. A lot of validity to it. We totally endorse Neridronate infusions. we have been blessed with the means to get this treatment in Italy, and we are so close to remission. As specified in the article, the best results come for those in CRPS 1. My wife was in early stage 2 a year ago when we went for treatment. In consultation with Italian physicians we just got back 3 weeks ago from our second round of treatment and have already improved the pain and burning. We feel that remission is around the corner. Her ability of barely being able to walk a half a mile 1 year ago to the 6 mile trail hike we did last weeks a testament to the positive efficacy of this drug that we need to get approved here in the US. I’ll spare you all of my FDA rant that I’ve posted on other videos. This drug along with diet, exercise, proper supplementation, and other rehabilitation treatments will bring my wife back to the athlete that she was before her foot injury and subsequent debilitation of CRPS for the last three years.
