I'm not 100% sure if this is intentional, but in certain parts of the song (2:02 is the most noticeable) you can hear a clicking sound that sounds almost identical to the sound of a gas oven being lit by a spark of electricity. That's a very cool detail, considering it fits the theme of the episode/song. Edit: Yeah I'm pretty sure it's intentional, the fire only starts after it happens.

I’ve got a theory on how Bon became this messed up. My guess is he went hunting one day for his burger place when he accidentally shoots a man going camping, Bob is terrified that he’ll be arrested for murder, so he had to find a way to dispose the body, then, he gets the idea to eat him, making things easier to hide evidence. Till he tries it and gets a strange taste out of it, a sort of delight, so he hides the corpse in a bag and takes it to his restaurant. He decides to make burgers out of the corpse, and that’s when his ratings on his food went through the roof. So he thought, the more people he killed the more he could cook for more money, but police were onto him after the first guy went missing including more, so when they come to realize what he’d been doing, one night of Halloween, he’s arrested. And we know the rest from there.

"The Stars Look Back At You", the theory, part 3 In case most of you didn't see the theories I've been putting on credit OSTs, I'll sum it up for you; Basically, Eyes likes to protect our lovable protagonists, and will punish anyone or anything that even tries to hurt them, even going as far as to control Pump when he can't come to help in time, and teach them about certain things so they know what they're dealing with and thus may be able to handle it on their own. This is a part 3 of that theory, focusing specifically on episode 5. First of all, Pump's eyes turn cyan in the intro when Susie gets pranked by him. Given what's happened before, it might look like Eyes just likes pranking people for no reason, but I have a different theory: Pump's eyes also turn cyan whenever he's in the dark so he can see. A lot like the alternate ending for DS: The holes in the cultist's mask turn cyan when he's just outside the window because he's outside at night in the dark where no other lights are even shown through the window. But in terms of Pump's eyes near the end... Most definitely Eyes' doing. Checking to make sure their threat is dead, and almost attempting to talk him out of killing them before being interrupted. Except, there's something deeper going on here. Bob's eyes also turn cyan, specifically when he is supposed to be dead but is not. Not only that, but it takes WAY more than it would normally take to kill him. And to tie it all together, in this episode's alternate ending, it was revealed that Bob had the cult's signature necklace. Bob is in the cult. But if you remember, the cult worships Eyes, and as I've stated multiple times, Eyes wants the kids protected for very specific reasons. So why would he send one of his own followers to hurt the ones he's trying to keep safe? I personally think it's a test. A test to see if they can handle something like this on their own. They dealt with the doll no problem, but that was because one of them actually knew what they were dealing with, the other was playing along, and the doll was just their size. But would they be able to handle a killer they know nothing about that's like 3 times the size of them? The answer might've been yes... If he played fair. They were doing a pretty good job at avoiding his tactics, and then he got ran over so it was SUPPOSED to be the end of the game. But I assume Bob would do anything for a chance to have a buffet, and this situation really does scream "anything". Bob got up and tried again, even though he wasn't supposed to, causing Eyes to possess Pump in order to interfere and try to talk him out of it. He points to his own eyes and says "You know we already won-" before getting cut off. If I were to guess, he was about to talk about how this is "too far for a game of hide and seek", and that Bob's already done enough and he should stop before something happens. Just because Bob's eyes turn cyan doesn't mean Eyes is also controlling HIM. As I explained earlier, people's eyes can turn cyan for reasons other than that, and Bob seems to be no exception. I personally think that he's using some sort of power Eyes gave him to keep himself alive despite having just been run over, and his eyes go cyan when he uses it. Editing this part in because I realized something else. What if Bob's been wanting to kill them for a long time now? He keeps dummies that look like them, in a room with no windows mind you, seemingly for the only purpose of being test dummies. Maybe that's why he refused to stop when the cue came to do so: He wasn't willing to give up his only opportunity. In other news, Pump just always carries around a hammer now. I assume it's because of the self defense he learned. At the end of the day, they probably could've handled Bob just fine on their own IF Bob didn't get overconfident against his own boss and cheat. In other words, "test succeeded failfully".

This is now one of my favorite and one of the most well-written songs I've ever heard. For one thing, I've literally never heard anything like the chord progression for the chorus; (i - VII - biii - II;) it's seemingly so random, I don't know how he thought of it but it just works so well. And that phrase is how I would describe so much of this song; "I don't know how he thought of it but it just works so well." Who would think to add such a dark-sounding bassline to a song like this, with accordion and string pizzicato?? Who would think to randomly swap from honky-tonk piano to brass like that?? I don't know but it improves the song tremendously. Everything is so perfect. This last paragraph might sound pretentious and/or overanalytical, but another thing I like is how in the beginning piano solo the middle voice is always playing notes from the tonic chord, while the bass plays somewhat of a countermelody that sometimes adds tension and release. In my opinion this makes it much more interesting than just a static chord; at times it even arguably changes the chord to a vii augmented, (for example on beat 2 of the first bar,) but I guess you could also just call it a tonic chord without the tonic note being played, and with a d in the bass. All of this might be unintentional but if it isn't then I think it's a really cool idea. Sorry If I sound super pretentious rn, I'm just mega impressed by this song and wanted to talk about it; I'm learning it on piano and I'm only at like 1:06 but I was just so impressed I wanted to talk about it right then and there

0:48 Has anyone else noticed that the music here kinda sounds like Burning Memory (A song about a person going through dementia)? I have a theory that this and him in the episode saying "Did you know, if you eat a human brain, you'll get a disease similar to Mad Cow?" was all on purpose, and hinting that his character possibly suffers from memory loss. And this makes sense to me because he's a cannibal, and one of the symptoms of the disease he mentioned is dementia. This has been on my mind for a while, and I hope this all makes sense and that i'm not the only one who noticed it.
