Ah, you went for "Stains of Time" before "The Only Thing I Know for Real" or "A Stranger I Remain". This song I would argue hits the hardest out of the entire soundtrack because it just starts out in your face with really raw sounding lead guitar, drums, *and* vocals right at the start and doesn't stop. Fitting for Monsoon given what he likely had to endure through endless wars and surviving Pol Pot when he was young.

This is the theme song of Monsoon, one of the major villains in the game. His traumatic past in Cambodia has led to his nihilistic views of the world. And it's neat that you pointed out his rejection of humanity and becoming machine-like since he has modified more of his body than any of the other major cyborgs, with only his original head (except his eyes) and neck intact.

Ironically, monsoon couldn’t reject his humanity or emotions at the end of the fight. Even doubting himself when you just fuck him up with no difficulty, at the end of the skilful run, the zandatsu makes him cry for mercy by saying “stop! Stop!” He couldn’t reject his humanity at the end of the day. It’s impossible.

Stop it!" shows how monsoon has already lost the "dreams" the song is talking about and how he is devastated about how did you beat him, bc the line is actually a special line, and it appears when you are close or directly flawless him, by keep parrying and attacking

@Dhar_C that also reconnects with the use of the lyrics in the fights, with Monsoon, Mistrial, and Sundowner all only having their lyrics appear for a short period at the end, being small like their connection to their humanity, while Sam's lyrics plays all throughout his battle except when he loses his sword, which to him, is the only part of his humanity he sees meaning in (referenced in his lyrics)

I think Monsoon is the most cybernetic of all the characters, even more than Raiden (Monsoon doesn't even have eyes that we can see). But the Zen part you mentioned is actually not far off, Monsoon commissioned the Japanese garden in the game.

These boss themes are pretty much half the character that you're fighting. The game is very short and you don't get *too* much time to know the bosses. But when you do, and when you hear their music...👌 It's like you know everything about them, and why they are the way they are.

Yeh. Monsoon believes that humans are only social beings; nothing else. He believes that they only consist of what formed them: The cultural influences and experiences they saw and lived through. According to Monsoon, a human being can only act in one way in every situation, and making decisions is a delusion. To quote the character: "Free will is a myth. Religion is a joke. We are all pawns, controlled by something greater: Memes. The DNA of the soul. They shape our will. They are the culture. They are everything we pass on." He does not so much reject his humanity. He rather believes that to be human meants being a biological robot whose actions are devoid of free will and simply a culmination of its life.

oh god im sorry to say this but this isent an offical mix its an “extended version” that loops the begining part of the song over and into the end cause it only takes the recordings from the game and not the original ost. so you are not listening to a proper version of the song.
