Saw these guys at the Skyway Theater here in Minnesota and stood right in front of Justin Lowe... He walked out on stage looked straight out at the crowd threw his guitar behind his head and played the whole intro for berserker before dropping the guitar back down and shredding the rest of the song. They were absolutely amazing live!!!

ATB formed in a HS math class and early on they wrote a song called pi which follows their literal musical interpretation of pi. They were one of the big names when djent started. I feel like you personally would enjoy their Wolves Within and Dig Deep albums. If you do decide to get into them more. Also have you checked out selkies by btbam in your own time?

I remember my nephew's friend brought the original recording with the old singer over to my house and put this song on. I got about 3 seconds in and had to start over because it needed to be as loud as possible 😄. He and my nephew were friends with these guys and went to school with them. One of my favorites to this very day.

Ometh is probably my favorite song from them, it has such a heavy yet happy feel to it. Probably their best solo they've ever written as well!

This was pretty damn good. I've grown bored of the general metalcore "sound" over the years, but this is so proggy and diverse that it keeps my interest and makes all the more "standard" metalcore elements, like the half-time chugs, have more effect by contrast. Really superb riffs and guitar playing throughout, and I was enamored with all the time (feel) switches.

Your channel is the real gem, almost nobody talks about nuances and intricacies of music pieces as deeply as you! If you're ever gonna make a series of reactions to some experimental pop stuff, I highly recommend you a song called "us" by the Japanese female artist Aimer who has a very distinct raspy/husky voice. The producer of this song (TK, or Tooru Kitajima) is famous for his signature prog/indie/phc sound, but for this song he went for another route and took inspiration in almost jazz, ambient and movie ost-like vibe. This song is in a perfect balance between the more accessible sound for non-musician audience and the sound that interesting enough for more geeky-picky listeners. Another recommendation would be "memento mori" by the Japanese band androp (also featuring Aimer). This song is actually something else, and I don't want to spoil too much but it provides a pretty unique listening experience because of the way it was recorded and mixed (first half of the song is split in two different versions playing in each channel with male vocal on the left and female on the right). Genre-wise it's something in the middle between melancholic pop-rock and post-rock/shoegaze.

I'll keep all of that in mind. Pop is a genre that I feel has a lot of potential but, at least in the mainstream pop, generally is written very "surface level-y." Experimental pop might be what I'm looking for as far as fun, catchy hooks but also interesting music.

I'm big on these guys! I think a song you'd find interesting is called "Your Troubles Will Cease and Fortune Will Smile Upon You" which is from the album that followed this one. They exchanged a bunch of the speed for grooviness in their work after this album, and they've released a whopping 4 albums after this one. As such, Berserker (and a bunch of others from this album) is a noticably faster song than the rest of their discography so it's a pretty different vibe, but it's some good heavy stuff! Overall their main appeal is just that they are able to make some consistently good heavy/djenty music so if you're not super big on that then they won't have that much of an impact on you. I don't think this is a life changing band, but I like how they have such good consistency since you can be assured live shows will always be great no matter what they choose for their setlist.

This is such a wild ride. It must be so difficult to react to this and give feedback at the same time during the first listen. Everytime you have a cohesive idea about the song, the tempo, the riff or the subdivision changes.
